Job description

ABOUT THE ROLE:

Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) — Data Center Infrastructure Delivery

Location: Abilene / Shackelford, Texas area

Work Location Requirement: This role is expected to be approximately 85% on-site at the Abilene/Shackelford data center location.

Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) is seeking a Senior Data Center MEP PM to support the delivery of large-scale data center infrastructure in the Abilene/Shackelford, Texas area. This role will be part of the OCI Data Center Infrastructure Delivery organization and will help drive the successful execution of mission-critical mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems across hyperscale data center construction projects.

The Senior Data Center MEP PM will work closely with internal Oracle teams, construction partners, developer-led construction teams, QA/QC oversight teams, design consultants, commissioning agents, contractors, vendors, and other key stakeholders to ensure that MEP scope is delivered safely, on schedule, within quality expectations, and aligned with Oracle’s infrastructure standards.

This role may be suited for candidates with either an electrical or mechanical background, with strong preference for experience managing electrical MEP systems in data center or mission-critical environments.

The Senior Data Center MEP PM will be responsible for supporting and overseeing MEP delivery activities throughout the construction lifecycle, including planning, construction execution, QA/QC coordination, commissioning readiness, turnover, and closeout.

Responsibilities include:

  • Provide field-based project management support for MEP systems on hyperscale data center construction projects.
  • Work closely with construction teams, developer representatives, QA/QC oversight teams, general contractors, trade partners, and vendors to monitor execution of MEP scope.
  • Support delivery of electrical and/or mechanical systems, including power distribution, switchgear, UPS systems, generators, cooling systems, piping, controls, fire protection, and associated infrastructure.
  • Track project schedule, milestones, constraints, risks, and dependencies related to MEP construction activities.
  • Review and monitor installation quality, field progress, construction documentation, issue resolution, and punch-list closure.
  • Partner with QA/QC teams to support inspections, documentation, non-conformance tracking, corrective actions, and quality verification.
  • Coordinate with commissioning teams to ensure systems are installed, tested, and turned over in accordance with project requirements.
  • Identify risks, blockers, design conflicts, constructability issues, and schedule impacts; escalate issues with clear recommendations.
  • Support review of RFIs, submittals, change impacts, field directives, and technical coordination items.
  • Participate in construction meetings, MEP coordination meetings, look-ahead planning sessions, QA/QC reviews, and commissioning readiness discussions.
  • Maintain clear communication with Oracle stakeholders regarding project status, progress, risks, and critical issues.
  • Promote a strong safety culture and support compliance with site safety expectations and construction best practices.
  • Help ensure data center infrastructure is delivered to Oracle’s performance, reliability, quality, and operational readiness standards.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in data center, hyperscale, mission-critical, industrial, or large-scale construction project delivery.
  • Direct experience supporting MEP construction on data center or mission-critical infrastructure projects.
  • Experience with electrical MEP systems such as medium-voltage distribution, switchgear, UPS, generators, transformers, power distribution, grounding, controls, and related systems.
  • Mechanical background may also be considered with relevant data center MEP experience, including cooling, chilled water, CRAH/CRAC, piping, pumps, air handling, fire protection, or controls.
  • Prior experience working on hyperscale data center projects is required.
  • Strong understanding of construction project execution, field coordination, QA/QC processes, schedule tracking, and issue resolution.
  • Experience working with general contractors, trade contractors, construction managers, developers, design teams, vendors, and commissioning teams.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, schedules, submittals, RFIs, and technical documentation.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly summarize project risks, issues, status, and next steps.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced construction environment with multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.
  • Must be willing and able to work approximately 85% on-site in the Abilene/Shackelford, Texas area.
  • Ability to travel locally as needed to support project execution, vendor coordination, or stakeholder meetings.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical field.
  • Strong electrical background with experience in data center power infrastructure, including utility coordination, medium-voltage systems, backup power, redundancy, and commissioning.
  • Experience with hyperscale cloud, colocation, or large enterprise data center construction.
  • Familiarity with data center commissioning levels, integrated systems testing, turnover packages, and operational readiness requirements.
  • Experience with construction reporting tools, scheduling platforms, document control systems, and issue tracking processes such as Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud, Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, Aconex, Bluebeam, SharePoint, or similar tools.
  • Experience managing or supporting QA/QC processes, inspection readiness, non-conformance resolution, and punch-list management.
  • Knowledge of construction safety practices, electrical safety, lockout/tagout awareness, and mission-critical site protocols.
  • PMP, CCM, PE, LEED, or other relevant professional certification.
  • Experience working with developer-led construction delivery models.
  • Ability to influence without direct authority and drive alignment across internal teams, contractors, vendors, and external partners.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with the ability to operate independently as a senior individual contributor.
