This is a pivotal role within a nationally recognized firm known for driving capital project success in high-growth industries like data centers, infrastructure, and large-scale industrial development. The company takes pride in helping Fortune 500 owners and developers optimize spend, streamline project delivery, and transform how construction insights are gathered and used.

This role will be deeply involved in the real estate and construction lifecycle, from pre-development through post-construction analysis. It's an exciting opportunity for someone ready to step into a highly visible, strategic contributor position where cross-functional collaboration and analytical excellence are key.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead financial oversight and drive efficiency in cost management across major capital construction initiatives, emphasizing data center development projects.
  • Partner cross-functionally with real estate, energy, utilities, finance, legal, and policy teams to guide site strategy and execution.
  • Lead initiatives tied to lease negotiation, acquisition, and site readiness while ensuring alignment with client goals and timelines.
  • Conduct thorough cost and market analyses to forecast risk factors tied to project budget, schedule, and execution quality.
  • Develop and manage financial models, track budget performance, and ensure cost reporting is timely, accurate, and actionable.
  • Own end-to-end visibility on spend across the project lifecycle, identifying opportunities for efficiency and reporting key KPIs to stakeholders.
  • Manage relationships with external vendors, suppliers, utility providers, and local/state authorities as needed.
  • Drive internal innovation by improving cost systems, templates, and protocols to create scalable project delivery processes.

Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Real Estate, Construction Management, City Planning, Finance, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience supporting capital projects, infrastructure development, or real estate strategy with hands-on cost control oversight.
  • 3+ years of direct experience in site selection or industrial development (data center or similar experience preferred).
  • Proven success managing real estate negotiations, lease agreements, and external partnerships tied to utilities or regulatory agencies.
  • Strong understanding of construction budgeting, cost forecasting, and risk modeling tools.
  • Effective communicator who can synthesize commercial, market, and legal data into concise reporting for both technical and executive audiences.
  • Strategic mindset with strong ownership mentality and ability to manage multiple workstreams.
  • Travel flexibility based on project needs.

Bonus Points For:

  • Advanced degree (MBA, JD, or technical MS) or certifications in project controls or construction finance.
  • Deep understanding of the data center landscape, particularly real estate or development transactions tied to hyperscale or colocation environments.
  • Background utilizing project management systems, automated reporting solutions, and cloud-driven construction technology platforms.

What's In It for You:

  • Competitive compensation package with strong benefits.
  • Opportunity to directly influence site selection and delivery strategies on cutting-edge construction builds.
  • Collaborative, high-performance culture where innovation and ownership are rewarded.
  • Join a company recognized nationally for excellence, with a strong emphasis on remote enablement, flexibility, and professional development.
