This role is responsible for overseeing Maintenance Leads and their teams of technicians to ensure aircraft are maintained safely, efficiently, and in compliance with FAA regulations, technical publications and company procedures.

The Supervisor serves as the link between frontline maintenance execution and the Maintenance Manager. While the Maintenance Manager establishes departmental policies, resources, and long-term planning, the Line Maintenance Supervisor ensures these directives are carried out effectively at the shift and task level.

Leadership & Oversight

  • Supervise and direct Maintenance Leads, providing clear priorities, guidance, and support.
  • Ensure Leads effectively manage their assigned technicians and work packages.
  • Conduct shift briefings, communicate assignments, and enforce safety and compliance expectations.
  • Manages personnel scheduling and time off.

Operational Execution

  • Monitor daily line maintenance activities, including scheduled, unscheduled, and troubleshooting tasks.
  • Ensure timely completion of work to support flight schedules and minimize aircraft downtime.
  • Verify accuracy of logbook entries, sign-offs, and documentation in accordance with FAA regulations and company GMM.

Coordination & Communication

  • Act as the primary point of contact between Maintenance Leads and the Maintenance Manager.
  • Escalate issues such as resource shortages, deferred maintenance items, or major discrepancies to the Manager for resolution.
  • Coordinate daily requirements with Maintenance Control, Quality Assurance, and Supply Chain to align resources with operational needs.

Safety & Compliance

  • Enforce Metrea's Safety Management System (SMS), FAA regulatory compliance, and workplace standards.
  • Ensure Leads and technicians maintain proper use of tools, calibrated equipment, and protective gear.
  • Report hazards, incidents, and irregularities promptly, and support corrective action implementation.

Team Development

  • Mentor and coach Maintenance Leads to build leadership skills and technical knowledge.
  • Provide feedback to the Maintenance Manager on Lead and technician performance to support evaluations and career development.
  • Support on-the-job training and technical development initiatives.

Skills and Experience

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Certificate.
  • Minimum 3 years of aircraft maintenance experience on turbine-powered aircraft (KC-135 or similar platform preferred).
  • Proven leadership experience as a Lead Mechanic, Crew Chief, or equivalent.
  • Strong knowledge of aircraft manuals (USAF TO System, CMM, AMM, FIM, IPC, WDM, SRM) and FAA documentation standards.
  • Ability to lead teams in high-tempo, international operational environments.
  • U.S. Citizenship with ability to obtain security clearance and passport.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

  • Prior experience supervising legacy tanker fleets (KC-135, C-135, or similar).
  • Familiarity with FL3XX, AMOS, Baldwin Safety, Monday.com, reliability programs, and continuing analysis/surveillance systems.

Metrea's single core value, "rooted in humility," is supported by four key attributes: entrepreneurial, systematic, discerning, and over-deliver. These attributes, combined, form our Teammate Firmware, our culture. We explore these attributes during the hiring process when we grow our teams and continually support the growth of our culture. We are a hyper-collaborative, dynamically hierarchical organization united by a passion for what we do, how we do it, who we do it with, and who we do it for.
