DEPARTMENT: Maintenance

What You'll Do

This full-time, permanent position in a manufacturing environment plays a critical role in the production of charitable and lottery gaming products, including pull-tab tickets (break-open tickets) and bingo paper. The Machinist will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining a variety of production machines and machine tools. This includes fabricating, repairing, and assembling parts to ensure the optimal performance of equipment used in the manufacturing process.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in machinery maintenance, specifically in settings where high-volume production equipment is key. This candidate is someone who thrives in a hands-on environment, with the ability to diagnose issues quickly, perform complex repairs, and manage preventative maintenance programs to reduce downtime. The ideal candidate will be familiar with a range of machine tools and equipment, particularly those used in the printing and gaming industries. We are looking for a self-motivated individual with strong problem-solving skills, a commitment to safety, and the ability to collaborate effectively with a team.

Additional Duties and Responsibilities Include:

  • Set up and operate various machine tools including mills, lathes, grinders, and CNC equipment. Ensure production machines, such as those used in the creation of pull-tab tickets and bingo paper, are in optimal working condition.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot machine malfunctions, diagnosing issues and determining necessary repairs. Dismantle and reassemble equipment as needed, performing corrective actions quickly and efficiently to avoid production delays.
  • Measure, cut, and shape metal parts to precise specifications to either repair or replace defective parts. Use standard shop tools (saws, grinders, drills) and advanced machinery (CNC, mills) to fabricate metal components.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, machine specifications, and electrical schematics to guide repair and maintenance work. Adjust machine tools according to design specifications and tolerances.
  • Perform regular preventative maintenance (PM) on production machines to reduce downtime and improve lifespan. Visually inspect equipment such as air compressors, compactor systems, and production lines on a daily basis, ensuring all machinery is functioning properly.
  • Track spare parts inventory and ensure that adequate materials are available for repairs. Maintain organized records of parts used, repairs completed, and machine status.
  • Work with operators and team members to address operational issues and identify ways to improve equipment reliability and production efficiency. Provide input to management regarding machinery issues, maintenance priorities, and equipment needs.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations while performing maintenance duties, ensuring a safe working environment. Follow standard operating procedures and ensure compliance with workplace safety practices.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned to support production needs. Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the maintenance shop, ensuring tools and equipment are stored properly.

What You'll Need

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Associate's Degree in a technical field or equivalent work experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, preferred.
  • 4+ years of experience in machining or industrial maintenance.
  • Experience with production machinery in a manufacturing setting, preferably in a gaming or printing environment.
  • Machine certifications (e.g., CNC, Lathe), preferred.
  • Skilled in welding, machining, and equipment repair.
  • Proficient in operating mills, lathes, grinders, and CNC machines.
  • Ability to read mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic schematics.
  • Strong knowledge of machine tolerances, tooling, and materials.
  • Excellent attention to detail and troubleshooting ability.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
  • Proficient in basic computer applications and maintenance tracking software.
  • Ability to work well in a diverse environment.

Additional Requirements:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder (sponsorship is not available).
  • Ability to pass a background check and pre-employment drug screening.
