Claims Analyst - REMOTE

The Claims Analyst handles complex and high exposure bodily injury and property damage claims under Ryder's self-administered liability program.

This position investigates and adjusts claims, as well as directs defense counsel, independent adjusters, experts, and other vendors in the claims-handling processes.

Requirements include a Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent experience and seven or more (7+) years of experience in casualty claims. Strong claim technical skills are required. Adjuster licenses are required for various States.

Additional requirements include demonstrated ability to handle large exposure and complex claims including litigated matters and coverage cases. A strong commitment to the principles of customer focus, effective interpersonal skills, and ability to communicate clearly in verbal and written communications are also required. Candidates must complete detailed and quality internal reports, possess superior negotiation skills, and have a comprehensive understanding of all relevant laws and regulations as well as related medical and legal terminology. Superior claim technical skills and a comprehensive understanding of insurance coverage are necessary. State licenses are a plus, and obtaining necessary licensing will be required within 90 days.

Responsibilities include investigating and adjusting claims, assisting Claim Manager in the identification of exposures and recommending solutions, possessing a comprehensive understanding of all relevant laws and regulations governing Property and Casualty claims in the US, Canada and Puerto Rico, alerting Claim Manager to changes and proposed changes in laws that could impact Ryder's liability program, ongoing interaction with field and operations management, legal counsel, safety managers, customers, insurance carriers, and third party claimants, interacting with Law Department on significant cases, supervising outside vendors retained for investigations, cost containment, expert witnesses, and litigation management, routinely interacting with primary and excess insurance carriers, assisting Claims Manager, helping other team members on technical issues, recommending and setting reserves to ensure the reserves represent the probable ultimate payout based on documented file developments, and investigating and resolving complex and high exposure claims pursued against Ryder and our insured customers.

Compensation offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's relevant experience; education, including relevant degrees or certifications; work location; market data/ranges; internal equity; internal salary ranges; etc. The position may also be eligible to receive an annual bonus, commission, and/or long-term incentive plan based on the level and/or type. Compensation ranges for the position are $90,000.00 to $100,000.00.
