The Mechanic Assembler I is responsible for the disassembly, reassembly, testing, and painting of natural gas engine and compressor components. This role requires mechanical aptitude, precision, and a strong commitment to safety and quality standards in a shop environment.

Job Overview
The Mechanic Assembler I is responsible for the disassembly, reassembly, testing, and painting of natural gas engine and compressor components. This role requires mechanical aptitude, precision, and a strong commitment to safety and quality standards in a shop environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assemble and disassemble mechanical components per engineering drawings and specifications
- Perform hand grinding, painting, and preservation of parts
- Conduct functional testing and complete inspection documentation
- Operate pneumatic/hydraulic tools, cranes, and lift trucks
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Follow safety protocols and complete risk assessments
- Report discrepancies and safety concerns to supervisors
- Support lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives
- Perform minor maintenance on tools and equipment
- Comply with company policies, EHS standards, and quality regulations
- Wear required PPE and adhere to safety procedures
- High School Diploma or GED
- 1–2 years of experience in mechanical assembly, disassembly, or heavy equipment maintenance
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in physically demanding environments
- Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to read blueprints and use precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, dial indicators)
- Forklift and overhead crane certification (or ability to obtain)
- Mechanical aptitude, preferably with oil & gas equipment
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to interpret technical documents and follow instructions
- Safety-conscious and proactive in identifying hazards
- Time management and organizational skills
- Adaptability to changing production schedules
