Mold Assembler (Crimper)
Full-Time | Hands-On Manufacturing Role
If you enjoy mechanical, hands-on work and want a stable opportunity with long-term growth, this role offers a great path into advanced manufacturing. Full training is provided, and you’ll work with equipment that supports critical electrical infrastructure across the country.
What You’ll Do
You’ll assemble polymer insulators by attaching metal end fittings, performing precision crimping, and ensuring each unit meets strict quality and performance standards. This is a hands-on production role where accuracy, consistency, and safety matter every day.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble polymer insulator components following detailed instructions and quality standards
- Operate hydraulic and pneumatic crimping tools to attach metal end fittings
- Set and verify pressure/force specifications for each crimp
- Inspect assemblies for depth, alignment, bonding, and structural integrity
- Support molding, curing, and material prep to keep production flowing
- Use calipers, micrometers, depth gauges, and go/no-go gauges for measurements
- Use cutting tools (cable cutters, trimming tools, utility knives) to prep components
- Work with hand tools such as pliers, screwdrivers, wrenches, and mallets
- Follow all safety procedures, including PPE and lockout/tagout
- Report defects, equipment issues, or material shortages promptly
- Assist with general production, assembly, and material handling tasks
What Makes You a Strong Candidate
- Mechanical aptitude and comfort working with tools
- Experience with hydraulic or pneumatic crimping tools
- Ability to follow precise pressure/force specifications
- Familiarity with measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges)
- Experience in production, assembly, or material handling
- Ability to safely use hand and power tools
- Strong attention to detail and quality
- Ability to follow written instructions and drawings
- Commitment to safety and proper PPE use
Nice-to-Have Experience (Not Required)
- Polymer molding or molding machine experience
- Inspection experience in ISO-controlled environments
- Wire harness or similar crimping/assembly experience
- General labor experience in fast-paced manufacturing
- Flexibility to support multiple production tasks

- Non–climate-controlled production facility (can be hot in summer)

Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Virginia Beach, VA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
