Job description

The Computer Systems Analyst II provides technical and analytical support for the design, development, and implementation of information systems in a government environment.

This role is responsible for analyzing user requirements, defining system solutions, and supporting system implementation and sustainment. Systems Analysis & Solution Development Analyze user requirements and operational needs to develop technical solutions and system improvements. Define system goals and break down solutions into logical steps, workflows, and procedures.

Apply structured analysis techniques including data modeling, process mapping, and information engineering. Identify system inputs, define processing logic, and design outputs to meet user requirements. Application Development & Support (Power Platform Focus) Develop, configure, and support solutions within the Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Dataverse, Power Automate).

Design and maintain Dataverse data structures and relationships to support application functionality.

Support development and enhancement of custom business applications using low-code/no-code solutions. Troubleshoot and resolve system and application issues to ensure continuity of operations. System Implementation & Testing Support system implementation activities, including configuration, integration, and user validation.

Coordinate and execute system testing to ensure solutions meet functional requirements.

Observe system performance during initial deployment and assist with issue resolution.

Work with developers and technical teams to debug and refine system functionality.

Documentation & Technical Specifications Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including system specifications, process flows, and diagrams.

Translate user requirements into clear technical guidance for developers and stakeholders.

Document system configurations, workflows, and data structures. Data Management & Reporting Support data analysis and reporting efforts using available tools (e.g., Power BI, Dataverse, SharePoint).

Ensure data integrity, accessibility, and alignment with system requirements.

Assist in developing dashboards and reporting solutions to support operational visibility.

Cost & Performance Analysis Assist in developing cost-benefit and return-on-investment (ROI) analyses for proposed system improvements. Support evaluation of system effectiveness and recommend enhancements based on performance data. Contribute to identifying efficiencies through automation and improved system design. Lifecycle & Environment Support Support Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) processes across development, test, and production environments. Assist with system updates, releases, and version control activities. Ensure solutions are implemented in accordance with established governance and best practices. Education/Experience/Skills:

  • U.S.
  • Citizen with an active Secret Clearance.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in computer systems analysis.
  • Experience applying structured analysis methods and system design principles.

  • Proficiency in both systems analysis and application development concepts.
  • Required Technical Qualifications Demonstrated experience with the Microsoft Power Platform.
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft Dataverse as a backend data environment.
  • Proven experience developing and supporting Power Apps solutions.
  • Working knowledge of Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) practices.
  • Preferred Qualifications Experience with Power Automate for workflow automation.
  • Familiarity with SharePoint for enterprise data and document management.
  • Experience with Power BI for reporting and data visualization.
  • Experience supporting DoD or government IT systems.
