About the Role
This full-time position is anticipated to run for 6 months with the possibility of extension. As an Engineering Technician within Advanced Hardware Manufacturing Operations, you will support rapid prototyping and low-volume electronic hardware assembly for automotive applications. You will collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to enable efficient design iterations, ensure product quality, and meet aggressive development timelines in a dynamic lab environment.
What you will be doing:
- Accurately assemble and test electronic hardware ranging from engineering prototypes to short-run production builds.
- Support engineers in developing new products by optimizing manufacturing processes and recommending alternative assembly techniques.
- Follow detailed processes and technical instructions while maintaining high quality and consistency.
- Perform final product testing in accordance with documented procedures.
- Serve as a Quality Delegate by inspecting and verifying work completed by other technicians.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe lab workspace and ensure proper care of tools and equipment.
- Communicate clearly and effectively with cross-functional teams to support project timelines and quality goals.
- Complete routine assignments independently with minimal supervision while adhering to safety and operational standards.
About You
You are a self-motivated and detail-oriented engineering technician who thrives in a fast-paced lab environment. You bring hands-on electro-mechanical assembly experience, strong communication skills, and a collaborative mindset. You are comfortable supporting product development teams in low-volume manufacturing settings and consistently deliver high-quality work aligned with schedule and safety expectations.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree with 4 to 6 years of experience in electro-mechanical assembly.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and engineering drawings.
- Proficiency using standard assembly tools including cutters, crimpers, soldering irons, pin insertion/removal tools, and torque tools.
- Hands-on lab experience with soldering equipment, power supplies, signal generators, and oscilloscopes.
- Working knowledge of Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides) and general computer proficiency for data entry and internet use.
- Strong verbal and written English communication skills.
- Experience working with product development teams in a low-volume manufacturing environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Technical training such as soldering certification, trade school coursework, or on-the-job technical classes.
- IPC-610, IPC-620, or JSTD-10 certification.
