Your role with us
The solution center operator I at Salem Health is a key voice within our critical communication hub, managing the hospital's main switchboard with efficiency and professionalism to support our 24/7 operations. This role is instrumental in directing calls, handling messages for medical staff, activating emergency codes and monitoring critical alarm systems. It is a great fit for a calm and composed individual who can maintain accuracy under pressure and ensure clear communication across the health system. This is an on-call, as-needed position averaging about 20 hours per week, with a four hour weekly minimum and up to 120 hours monthly, providing vital coverage for our continuously operating center.
What you'll do
- Operate the hospital switchboard system by promptly answering and directing calls to the appropriate location department or individual.
- Accurately record and relay messages for physicians, nurses and other healthcare providers according to approved procedures.
- Activate emergency codes, monitor critical alarm systems and notify the appropriate response teams during urgent situations.
- Maintain and update on-call schedules for various medical staff.
- Participate in projects to improve processes and eliminate waste in workflows.
Required qualifications
- Minimum of six months call center or similar work experience.
