JOB DESCRIPTION: The Inventory Control Specialist is a hands-on role perfect for an individual with a proven track record of effectively collaborating with and motivating teams to achieve exceptional results.
The ideal candidate will bring significant experience in a manufacturing environment.
This position serves as a crucial link between the warehouse and the production floor, requiring both strong computer and communication skills.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Utilize computer systems to compile and maintain accurate records of material, equipment, merchandise, or supplies stocked, including quantity, type, and value.
This involves conducting physical counts of inventory and updating inventory records with the verified totals.Maintain optimal stock levels to meet production demands, demonstrating a thorough understanding of material lead times.Ensure the accuracy of product inventory for clients.Communicate effectively with the Operations team regarding current stock status and potential order fulfillment challenges.Conduct daily analyses to proactively identify and forecast potential inventory issues.Generate reports on inventory activities and variances.Inspect newly received inventory to confirm its readiness for shipping or delivery.Perform other related duties as assigned.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS/ FUNCTIONAL SKILLS/ COMPETENCIES: Demonstrated ability to actively listen, learn quickly, and communicate effectively with supervisors and colleagues.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word) and ideally experience with GP Dynamics or similar inventory management software.Ability to follow instructions and take direction effectively.Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage daily tasks efficiently and meet established deadlines.Adaptability to changing priorities and organizational restructuring.Willingness and ability to work overtime as needed.Hands-on experience operating forklifts and reach lifts.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE: Computer ExperienceMust be at least 18 years or olderMust have a minimum of 1 years of relevant experiencePreferably High school diploma or GED.Previous experience in a manufacturing operations environment preferred.
JOB FACTORS/WORK ENVIRONMENT: Work involves physical demands typically found in a manufacturing environment, such as but not limited to: prolonged standing, sitting, bending, walking for extended periods of time, lifting and/or moving material.
