Job Title Field Operator II Compensation $45.82/hr Agency Supplied Vehicle Location Midland, TX – Highway 80 Schedule 8 days on / 6 days off Target Start Date ASAP Tentative End Date One year from start date Scope Operate equipment and wells by applying established operating and safety procedures and guidelines to meet the daily operational plan, reduce equipment failures, and efficiently administer resources.
Tasks and Responsibilities Implement daily work objectives while maintaining housekeeping, safety, health, environmental, and security standards.
Actively participate in daily toolbox meetings and regularly scheduled safety meetings.
Continuously monitor wells and equipment to identify and implement corrective and optimization actions that ensure reliable, efficient, and safe operating conditions.
Function as an Equipment Care Technician and routinely perform basic maintenance activities.
Report when alarms, emergency systems, or emergency shutdown systems are out of service.
Provide detailed, clear, and accurate shift-change information to ensure unit conditions are current and operations continue without interruption.
Coordinate, control, and monitor maintenance work according to corrective, predictive, and preventive maintenance plans.
Document all relevant operational events, abnormal situations, and deviations involving the work area, equipment, or personnel in the operating logbook.
Collect product samples for laboratory analysis and perform field laboratory tests.
Actively participate in emergency-response activities.
Report incidents internally and escalate awareness according to established incident-reporting guidelines.
Ensure the Operations Shift Supervisor is informed and consulted regarding operational activities.
Maintain effective communication across the work team so that issues and corrective actions are properly addressed.
Provide basic facts regarding well-production problems, current production rates, and current well conditions.
Ensure well-problem diagnostics are thorough and complete before requesting Well Work intervention.
Ensure wellheads and surface equipment are maintained and in good working order before Well Work assumes responsibility for intervention operations.
Assist and support ongoing Well Work operations as needed.
Skills and Qualifications Completed secondary education.
Previous Field Technician experience.
Oil and gas experience.
Saltwater disposal experience.
Strong knowledge of pipeline operations.
Strong knowledge of safety and operations-management tools and processes.
Broad knowledge of emergency-preparedness procedures.
Strong knowledge of project philosophy and design specifications.
Knowledge of applicable regulations.
Knowledge of relevant commercial agreements.
Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Strong safety, health, and environmental aptitude with the ability to cultivate the same standards in others.
Team-oriented attitude.
