[job_card.job_description]

At Sandvik, we're passionate about pushing the boundaries of technology, and we want you to be part of that journey. We're looking for a Systems Engineer on the Battery Controls team, you will be responsible for defining, developing, and verifying complex electrical and embedded systems from concept through production. This role requires a blend of strong systems thinking, requirements development, and hands-on hardware skills. You will create and manage system requirements, work closely with electrical, mechanical, and software engineers to ensure designs meet functional, safety, and regulatory needs, and perform hands-on testing and troubleshooting of electronic circuits and integrated systems. The ideal candidate will excel at bridging high-level system architecture with low-level hardware validation, thrive in a collaborative environment, and ensure that all technical decisions are well-documented and traceable.

What You'll Be Doing (and Why You'll Love It)

This isn't just a job-it's your opportunity to get hands-on and lead key projects that will shape the future of our products. Here's what you'll be up to :

  • Develop and manage system and sub-system requirements, specifications, and interface documents.
  • Define system architecture, electrical interfaces, and high-level design documentation.
  • Collaborate with hardware and software engineers on PCB, wiring harness, electromechanical integration, and embedded software.
  • Develop test plans, procedures, and reports for both bench-level and system-level testing.
  • Lead root-cause analysis, ensure design traceability, and verify compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
  • Support manufacturability, cost, and reliability objectives in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Ensure designs comply with relevant safety, environmental, and regulatory standards (e.g., UL, CE, ISO).
  • Document technical decisions and provide mentorship to junior engineers.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changes in project requirements or timelines.
  • Works independently with little to no supervision.

What You Bring (and Why You're the Perfect Fit)

You've got the experience, the skills, and the passion to make a difference.

Here's what we're looking for :

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in electrical engineering or related degree.
  • 5+ years of experience in systems engineering, electrical hardware development, or embedded systems integration.
  • Proven track record creating and managing system requirements and performing hardware testing at the circuit and system level.
  • Familiarity with PCB design tools (e.g., Altium, Cadence, Eagle) and electrical test equipment (e.g., oscilloscopes, power analyzers, logic analyzers).
  • Experience with battery systems, power electronics, or embedded control systems is highly desirable.
  • Ideally familiar with safety standards such as ISO 26262 or ISO 13849, particularly in the context of embedded systems.
  • What's in It for You (and Why You'll Love It Here)

At Sandvik, we believe in more than just the work you do-we care about your growth, well-being, and overall experience. Here's what you can look forward to when you join us :

  • Great Pay & Benefits
  • We offer a competitive salary between $111,000 -$130,000, along with a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, retirement plans, and more.

  • Work-Life Balance
  • We understand the importance of life outside of work. Our flexible paid time off, wellness programs, and parental leave options help support your personal needs.

  • A Supportive, Collaborative Team
  • At Sandvik, collaboration is key. You'll be working in a highly dynamic environment where creativity and open communication are encouraged. Every team member's voice is heard, and your ideas will directly contribute to shaping the future of our products.

  • Growth Opportunities
  • Sandvik is committed to helping you grow professionally. You'll have access to leadership programs, learning opportunities, and career advancement.
