Job description

Join Our Team!

Alkar Human Resources is currently hiring Temporary Construction Laborers to assist the Public Works Department with an upcoming building construction project. If you have hands-on construction experience, enjoy working outdoors, and are looking for a great temporary opportunity, we'd love to hear from you!


What You'll Do:

  • Assist with commercial and municipal building construction projects.
  • Safely use a variety of hand and power tools.
  • Perform general construction labor, including material handling, site preparation, and cleanup.
  • Support skilled trades and supervisors with daily project tasks.
  • Operate or assist with scissor lifts and Gradall forklifts (experience is a plus but not required).
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site.
  • Follow all safety guidelines and Public Works procedures.

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Previous construction or general labor experience is required.
  • Experience operating a scissor lift or Gradall forklift is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to lift, carry, bend, kneel, and perform physically demanding work throughout the day.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work well as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to safety and the ability to follow instructions.

Schedule:

9/80 Work Schedule:

  • Monday–Thursday: 6:30 AM – 4:00 PM (30-minute lunch)
  • Working Friday: 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM
  • Every other Friday off

Schedule may change based on departmental needs.
