Transportation Engineer

A leading firm is seeking a qualified Transportation Engineer to join a team of engineering professionals. This role requires a passionate individual with experience in the transportation design industry.

Responsibilities of the Transportation Engineer include:

  • Oversite of teams conducting work on transportation projects, including roadway design, traffic operations, roadway design, transportation planning, and environmental assessments.
  • Managing the preparation of engineering reports, plans, and specifications for various projects
  • Reviewing preliminary and final plans, technical specifications, contract documents, and estimates, making necessary recommendations for modifications
  • Participating in contract bidding and administration as needed
  • Supervising and observing project design and progress, coordinating with City, State, and County officials and other agencies
  • Supervising junior engineers and technical support personnel
  • Coordinating projects with clients, contractors, outside consultants, and firm staff
  • Communicating and interacting with project team members, client representatives, review agencies, and others as appropriate
  • Resolving complex problems, such as conflicting design requirements and difficult coordination requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Civil Engineering Technology
  • 2+ years of experience in the transportation industry
  • E.I.T. or P.E. certification is required
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of software systems: HCS, SYNCHRO, SIDRA, CORSIM, VISSIM, CUBE, TransCAD, MicroStation, Microsoft Office
  • Experience with DOT projects
