About the Role
As an Assistant Controller, you will play a key role in maintaining the integrity of our financial operations. You'll support the Controller in overseeing daily accounting functions, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with GAAP.
This is a hands-on role where attention to detail, ownership, and problem-solving are essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Manage and support the month-end and year-end close processes, including account reconciliations
- Ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting
- Assist with annual audits and tax return preparation
- Maintain compliance with internal controls and accounting standards
- Collaborate cross-functionally to support business operations and reporting needs
What You Bring
- Bachelor's degree in accounting
- 35 years of accounting experience (public accounting experience preferred)
- CPA or CPA candidate strongly preferred
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
- Experience preparing financial statements and managing close cycles
- Proficiency in QuickBooks and advanced Microsoft Excel skills (including pivot tables and financial modeling)
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Mortgage or real estate industry experience is a plus
