The Controller will oversee financial and accounting operations with a primary focus on divisional performance. This leadership role involves managing financial reporting, budgeting, compliance, and collaboration with divisional leadership to optimize financial strategies and operational efficiency. The position is based in Fort Wayne and is not remote. Responsibilities
  • Financial Reporting: Manage monthly Work In Process (WIP) reports, create divisional entries, and review job projections.
  • Cash Flow Management: Monitor cash flow to ensure sufficient liquidity for ongoing projects, including Accounts Receivable collections and weekly check runs.
  • Internal Controls: Implement and maintain strong internal controls and financial policies to protect company assets.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor the project accounting team to support professional development.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with project managers and divisional leadership to ensure accurate project costing.
  • Risk Management: Identify financial risks and create strategies to mitigate them, particularly for individual projects.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in accounting or finance, with a minimum of 2 years in a leadership role (construction industry experience preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards.
  • Expertise in Procore and CMiC
  • Microsoft Office Suite (Advanced skills in Excel for financial modeling and reporting)
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to interact with various stakeholders.
