About the Role The Production Operator – Winding & Forming is responsible for safely operating continuous forming and winding equipment to produce high-quality fiberglass products.
This role supports both winding and downstream pack-out operations, ensuring production targets, quality standards, and safety expectations are consistently met in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities Environment, Health & Safety Follow and promote all plant safety standards and procedures Maintain a strong commitment to safe work practices and zero injuries Identify hazards and support compliance with safety and environmental regulations Maintain a clean and organized work environment in alignment with housekeeping standards Production & Equipment Operation Operate and monitor winding and forming equipment to meet production goals Ensure all doffs are labeled with correct position ID tags Maintain cleanliness and alignment of strand contact points (e.g., take-down blade, collet, guide eye) Perform routine inspections of equipment and product quality Replace consumables such as rubber bands and end caps as required Ensure all carriers and finished goods are properly labeled prior to release Quality & Process Control Conduct visual inspections to ensure product meets quality specifications Accurately complete production and quality documentation Operate in-line chop equipment, ensuring accurate weights and product standards Maintain performance levels in line with established targets Pack-Out & Material Handling Assemble containers, apply labels, and palletize finished product Complete tally sheets and production documentation accurately Transport materials using forklifts or other material handling equipment as required Continuous Improvement & Maintenance Perform and document CILT (Clean, Inspect, Lubricate, Tighten) activities Participate in TPM initiatives, including Autonomous Maintenance (AM), Kaizen events, and breakdown analysis Support shift-to-shift communication and operational handoffs Utilize production monitoring systems to track performance and identify issues Environmental Responsibility Perform job duties in a manner that minimizes environmental impact Follow all procedures for waste disposal, recycling, and chemical handling Qualifications & Requirements Minimum Qualifications Must be 18 years or older High school diploma or GED required Ability to read, write, and communicate in English Authorized to work in the United States Ability to work rotating 12-hour shifts (days and nights) Ability to stand for extended periods during shifts Must pass pre-employment drug screening Preferred Qualifications Previous experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment Forklift experience or willingness to be trained Skills & Abilities Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality Ability to operate and troubleshoot production equipment Basic computer skills and ability to use production monitoring systems Strong problem-solving and time management skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Continuous improvement mindset Benefits Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance HSA with company contribution Health & Dependent Care FSAs 401(k):
