CJ Drilling is seeking a Regional Safety Manager who will be responsible for supporting multiple construction projects by ensuring compliance with company, state, federal and client safety requirements. The role partners closely with project managers, and field supervisors to promote a strong safety culture, conduct site inspections, lead training and investigate incidents. This position plays a key role in proactively identifying hazards and ensuring occupational risks are effectively controlled across job sites.

CJ Drilling, Inc. (doing business as "CJD Civil") is a nationwide certified WBE civil construction contractor focused on the energy and infrastructure markets. CJD Civil specializes in the state-of-the-art foundation drilling and drilling services, substation civil, duct bank construction, manhole vault installations, concrete pouring and flatwork, land grading, and other civil services and construction. CJD Civil continues to grow its civil construction breadth of services and add new customers every year.

What You’ll Do:

• Assist in controlling hazardous work conditions and unsafe work practices through interface with project management and field supervisors.
• Assist Project Managers and Field Supervisors in assuring a safe workplace.
• Conduct regular safety inspections of construction activities to determine compliance.
• Complete and document inspections in a timely manner and document corrective actions.
• Provide new employee safety orientation and other in-house training.
• Investigate any accident, incident and near-miss occurring on the job site and complete documentation on a timely basis.
• Conduct pre-construction surveys to identify hazards.
• Attend project safety and progress meetings as required by the customer.
• Perform special projects and completes other duties as assigned or requested for the general support of the project.
  

What We’re Looking For:

• 5+ years of construction safety experience with field experience.
• Hands-on construction job site safety experience.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to present ideas clearly verbally and in writing.
• An understanding of safety work rules and relevant OSHA requirements and regulations, NEC, NFPA and ANSI Standards for construction.
• Basic understanding of claims management and workers’ compensation reporting requirements.
• Intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Position includes a company vehicle; therefore a valid driver's license is required.
• Up to 50% of overnight travel is required.

The following are strongly preferred:

• 2-5 Years Construction Field Safety Experience
• OSHA 30-Hour Construction Outreach Training
• OSHA 500 Construction Trainer is a plus
• First Aid / CPR Instructor is a plus.
