We’re a team of curious, thoughtful people who value authenticity, collaboration, and continuous learning, creating a place where your work has a meaningful impact and your voice can thrive.

*Unfortunately, we are unable to offer visa sponsorship for this role now or in the future

Who We Are:
HelioCampus was founded with the purpose of helping college & university leaders navigate today’s growing pressures. As one of EdTech’s most steadily growing companies, our roots in higher ed ground us in the critical nature of this work.

What We Do:
We help our clients navigate today’s high stakes with data and Institutional Performance Management practices. Together with our clients, we chart a path to sustainability by borrowing practices from the most successful businesses.

How We Do It:
We approach our work with a “we’re on it” attitude that the higher ed community has come to know and expect from our team. We’re data geeks to our core, committed to simplifying the toughest challenges and operating with transparency. Our most successful team members are change agents who love a challenge.

How You'll Help:
We are seeking a Data Analyst to join our team of higher education data experts. The analyst will work closely with multiple client partners to understand their analytical needs, evaluate key performance metrics, and analyze trends. We are only considering candidates who possess superior technical ability and a strong background in analyzing enrollment, student success, and financial data, with prior experience working directly with university clients. Strong communication and relationship management skills are a must.

What You Will Do:

  • Develop subject matter expertise in the HelioCampus data platform and guide client partners in the use of the platform to answer strategic and operational institutional questions.

  • Deploy and configure dashboards, reports, and visualizations to effectively communicate insights and recommendations to university partners.

  • Conduct analysis of higher education data to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvement. This could include analysis of data from all three of the HelioCampus product suite – Student Analytics, Cost Analytics and Assessment Management.

  • Perform ad hoc analysis to discover actionable information in support of strategic decision making.

  • Serve as the main point of contact between HelioCampus and the client partner, working closely with senior leaders to maximize use of the platform and deliver ongoing training and support to client stakeholders.

  • Prioritize and follow up on client initiatives.

  • Leverage enterprise business intelligence tools, SQL queries and other tools to develop complex dashboards and reports.

  • Deliver ongoing training and support to client partners.

  • Translate and interpret business and data requirements between the client and the HelioCampus technical/data teams.

  • Maintain accuracy and quality of data extracts.

Projects you will work on:

  • Client analysis deliverables.

  • Creation of dashboard templates (Tableau and Power BI) and playbooks to standardize analysis deliverables.

  • Process efficiency initiatives to streamline and improve existing delivery processes.

  • Tableau development work, documentation, and presentation materials to support product roadmap.

You Will Be a Good Fit For This Role If You Have:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience performing analytic functions in higher education or working as a consultant in higher education.

  • Experience working in one or more key areas of higher education (e.g. student financials, financial aid, admissions, advancement, student affairs, enrollment management).

  • Experience summarizing and presenting data analysis to business leaders, which includes making recommendations to meet client strategic goals and objectives.

  • Innate curiosity and an interest in helping to advance institutions of higher education.

  • Experience building and fostering productive relationships with clients by using active listening to identify client needs and develop a path for success.

  • Experience working with data from one or more Student Information Systems (e.g. Banner, PeopleSoft, Colleague, Workday).

  • Experience working closely with technical development teams, Institutional Research, and Information Technology staff.

  • Significant experience working in Power BI and/or Tableau to manipulate, analyze and present data and to develop dashboards and reports.

  • Familiarity with data warehouse concepts, relational databases, and experience working with large data sets.

  • Foundational understanding of SQL and/or one or more analytic/programming software packages such as R, SAS, Python, and knowledge of statistical analysis and machine learning algorithms.

Nice To Have’s Include:

  • Experience working with data from one or more other higher education HR, CRM, Financial, and/or Learning Management systems.

  • Experience with higher education financials (General Ledger, etc.) and/or cost analytics.

  • Expertise with budgeting, resource allocation, and financial decision-making processes in higher education.

  • Project Management experience.

  • Comfort using AI tools such as chat and agents to augment productivity.

  • Experience creating surveys and conducting statistical analyses.

Location:
HelioCampus has two locations, Bethesda, MD and Chapel Hill, NC. This specific role is primarily remote, with occasional travel to an office or client site.
