Job Title: Machine Operator
Job Description
This role operates and assists with high-speed converting equipment to produce corrugated boxes, focusing on safe machine operation, accurate setup, and consistent product quality.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate converting equipment, including Rotary Die Cutters and Flexo Folder Gluers, to manufacture corrugated boxes according to production specifications.
- Assist with machine changeovers, adjustments, and setups to ensure efficient and accurate production runs.
- Monitor machine performance throughout the shift and make basic adjustments to maintain optimal speed, quality, and safety.
- Inspect materials and finished products regularly to verify they meet quality standards and customer requirements.
- Perform visual and manual inspections during production to identify defects, inconsistencies, or equipment issues and report them promptly.
- Handle general production tasks such as loading materials, stacking or organizing finished products, and keeping the work area clean and organized.
- Follow established production schedules and instructions to meet daily output goals and deadlines.
- Adhere to safety procedures and guidelines while operating machinery and handling materials.
- Collaborate with team members and support personnel to resolve minor mechanical or production issues and minimize downtime.
- Complete basic documentation related to production, quality checks, and equipment status as required.
Essential Skills
- At least 1 year of experience working in a manufacturing or production environment.
- At least 6 months of experience operating machinery in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
- Ability to operate, or quickly learn to operate, Rotary Die Cutters and Flexo Folder Gluers.
- Basic mechanical aptitude to perform machine setups, adjustments, and troubleshooting under guidance.
- Strong attention to detail to perform accurate inspections and maintain product quality.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, production orders, and safety procedures.
- Capability to perform general labor and assembly tasks in a fast-paced production environment.
- Reliability in attendance and punctuality to support consistent production schedules.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Grand Rapids, MI.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.00 - $25.00/hr.
