The ideal candidate is an analytical thinker with a strong foundation in finance, accounting, and inventory management, coupled with excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and report on key financial metrics, including inventory balances, inventory reserves, gross margin, and cost of goods sold (COGS), identifying trends, risks, and opportunities
  • Prepare and deliver monthly, quarterly, and ad-hoc financial reports to support management decision-making
  • Assist with month-end close activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analyses related to inventory and COGS
  • Support forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, providing meaningful insights into operational and financial performance
  • Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and KPIs to enhance visibility into financial and operational results
  • Assist in maintaining the accuracy of physical inventory by collaborating with operations teams to identify and resolve discrepancies
  • Support the analysis of inventory transactions, including inventory roll-forwards, cost variances, and obsolescence reserves
  • Partner with supply chain and operations teams to ensure accurate COGS reporting and inventory valuation
  • Provide insights related to inventory turnover, shrinkage, and operational inefficiencies, recommending actions to improve performance
  • Assist in managing pricing and costing data infrastructure, including maintaining pricing grids, ensuring accurate updates across systems, and integrating data sources to support the Sourcing Costing team
  • Develop advanced SQL queries and data pipelines to consolidate datasets from multiple systems, enabling scalable analysis, consistent reporting, and reliable decision support
  • Deliver data-driven insights and reporting by building analytical models, improving automation and standardization, and ensuring leadership has accurate, timely operational and financial data
  • Identify and implement opportunities to streamline financial processes and enhance data accuracy
  • Support the Senior Manager in designing workflows and tools to improve inventory management and financial reporting
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish best practices and ensure alignment with corporate objectives
  • Serve as a trusted business partner to departments such as supply chain, operations, and accounting, providing financial insights and recommendations
  • Collaborate with internal and external auditors by preparing required documentation for audits and ensuring compliance with SOX controls
  • Work closely with IT and ERP teams to optimize systems for financial and inventory reporting

Position Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or Economics with a minimum of 3-5 years of financial analysis and accounting experience, preferably in inventory, COGS, or related field
  • CPA or CMA certification is a plus
  • Experience in retail, wholesale, or e-commerce environments is highly desirable
  • Strong working knowledge of US GAAP, with a focus on inventory and COGS accounting
  • Hands-on experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred) and financial reporting tools
  • Advanced analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data, develop insights, and recommend actions
  • Strong proficiency in Excel
  • Strong experience with visualization/data tools like Tableau, Alteryx and/or Power BI
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present findings to senior stakeholders
  • Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting and analysis
  • Ability to build strong relationships across departments and work collaboratively to achieve shared goals
  • Comfort working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with changing priorities

Benefits and Perks:

  • Ample paid time off, plus seven holidays to recharge and unwind
  • Exclusive discounts on premium merchandise just for you
  • Dynamic Learning & Development programs to support your growth
