This is an expansion role. This client is a leading producer in the steel industry has plants all over the world and they are looking to grow this department out. Need US Citizens or Green Card Holders only due to ITAR / EAR compliance. Relocation offered.

Responsible for the overall database system (S4 HANA and Oracle Database and ThoughtSpot platform) ensuring the efficient and secure management of all database systems, enabling reliable data storage, retrieval, and processing to support the organization's business operations.

Design the database(s) and ThoughtSpot platform architecture, including data models, tables, and indexes in order to meet business requirements with an optimized database design.

Manage the implementation of any / all database(s), ensuring proper installation, configuration, and integration with other systems through collaboration with technical teams to ensure smooth data migration and application deployment.

Responsible for optimizing the performance of any / all database(s) through analyzing and fine-tuning database configuration, monitoring performance metrics, and identifying and resolving bottlenecks to ensure optimal system performance.

Ensure database(s) adheres to security best practices and compliance and governance requirements through effective and compliant access controls, encryption, and data masking techniques to protect sensitive information.

Troubleshoots database-related issues, performs regular maintenance tasks such as backup and recovery, and applies patches and upgrades to keep the database environment up to date and stable.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, data analysts, and infrastructure teams, to address database-related requirements and resolve issues.

Maintain current and complete documentation of the database architecture, configurations, and processes for future reference.

Support and oversee report or analysis creation to meet business requirements which can include identification and analysis of data from various sources, design report or analysis layouts, and effective use of ThoughtSpot platform functionalities to generate insightful and visually appealing analysis to identify trends, patterns, and insights that can be used to drive business decisions.

Effectively leverage the capabilities to identify data sources, apply filters, and perform calculations to derive meaningful insights from the available data.

Ensure effective visualization and dashboarding using ThoughtSpot's intuitive interface (appropriate charts, graphs, and other visual elements to facilitate decision making and actionable insights, making it easy for users to understand and interpret the information presented).

Responsible for organization and team continuous learning and staying updated with the latest advancements in S4 HANA.

Present progress reports, offer alternatives and / or solutions to address feedback or schedule (timeframe) risks.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution, in a relevant field in Computer Science (programming concepts, software development, and / or database design) required.

Applicant must be United States Citizen or Green Card Holder.

Relevant certifications in SAP HANA or S4 HANA such as SAP Certified Technology Specialist - SAP HANA Installation or SAP Certified Development Specialist - ABAP for SAP HANA, preferred but not required.

10+ years of experience with Hands-on experience in database concepts, data modeling, and database management systems (SAP HANA and more recently S4 HANA) :

Knowledge of architecture, administration, data provisioning, data modeling, and performance optimization.

Proficiency in designing and optimizing database structures, including data models, tables, indexes, and partitions, to ensure efficient storage, retrieval, and processing of data.

Analysis and optimization of database performance by monitoring performance metrics, identifying and resolving bottlenecks, and fine-tuning configuration parameters.

Planning and executing data migration from legacy systems to S4 HANA, as well as integrating S4 HANA with other systems and applications.

Knowledge and adherence to database security principles and best practices, including access controls, encryption, and compliance requirements such as (ITAR / EAR / DFAR)

Proficiency in troubleshooting database-related issues, performing regular maintenance tasks like backup and recovery, and applying patches and upgrades.

Ability to travel within and outside United States for business related requirements.
