Job description

Summary:

Location: Jacksonville, FL

Work Mode: Onsite

Schedule: Monday – Friday 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Responsibilities:

  • Formulate system scope through research and fact-finding to develop or modify moderately complex information systems.
  • Evaluate and implement changes to existing system logic difficulties and documentation as necessary.
  • Review flow charts, models, procedures, and feasibility studies to design possible system solutions.
  • Review technical documentation to guide system users and assist with the ongoing operation, maintenance, and development of the system.
  • Collaborate with system analysts, engineers, and programmers to design systems and determine project limitations and capabilities, performance requirements, systems performance standards, and interfaces.
  • Identify and document all system constraints, implications, and consequences of various proposed system changes.
  • Educate end users on system designs and functionalities through the creation of training materials and conducting demos.
  • Evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of application operations and troubleshoot problems.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 6 years of hands-on experience in enterprise database administration, support, and management across multiple database platforms, including Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle Database, PostgreSQL, Cassandra, and Snowflake.

Preferred Skills:

  • Expert-level knowledge and experience in database installation, configuration, upgrades, and patch management.
  • Design, implementation, administration, and support of database clusters.
  • High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) architecture, implementation, and support.
  • Backup, restore, recovery, replication, and business continuity solutions.
  • Database migration, consolidation, and platform modernization initiatives.
  • Shell scripting and automation for database administration and operational tasks using AI.
  • Application and database performance analysis, troubleshooting, and root cause investigation.
  • Audit, compliance, risk management, and automated reporting solutions.
  • Database performance tuning, monitoring, and capacity planning using tools such as Oracle Grid Control, Foglight, and native database monitoring utilities.
  • Experience supporting mission-critical production environments with 24x7 availability requirements.
  • Strong understanding of database security, governance, and regulatory compliance.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud, and good working knowledge of Snowflake database administration.
