The Lundquist Institute is looking for a Breastfeeding Peer Counselor I/WIC Nutrition Assistant to join our team.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
·Minimum of 2 year experience working as a Nutrition Assistant I in the WIC program or equivalent.
·Certified WIC Nutrition Assistant.
·Personal breastfeeding/chestfeeding experience of 6 months exclusive breastfeeding/chestfeeding.
Description of Duties:
·Provides nutrition education and breastfeeding/chestfeeding services and support to expectant and new mothers enrolled in the Lundquist WIC Breastfeeding Program and their family members via video conferencing, in-person, and telephone contacts.
·Utilizes the Peer Counselor (PC) database to document individual education and breastfeeding/chestfeeding contacts with participants enrolled in the Lundquist WIC Breastfeeding Program.
·Manages a articipant caseload and documents the interactions electronically in the PC database and the WIC Information System Exchange (WIC WISE) database.
·Certifies WIC applicants and participants, and conducts WIC WISE follow up contacts according to prescribed program regulations and procedures.
