The Project Coordinator will support engineers and project managers by performing technical assignments that develop professional knowledge and skills. The position involves applying inspection and management techniques and procedures while working on a variety of design, construction, municipal, and infrastructure projects.

This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in planning, design, management, field inspections, and project coordination while working alongside experienced professionals.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Development

  • Learn and apply sound practices and professional standards to daily work assignments.
  • Utilize computers, software, handbooks, and emerging technologies to support engineering tasks.
  • Perform basic calculations, develop reports, and assist with coordination between multiple technical disciplines.
  • Conduct work in an organized, accurate, and productive manner while maintaining attention to detail.

Project Support

  • Assist with preliminary design efforts, project planning, and studies related to design and construction projects.
  • Support the preparation of technical specifications, cost estimates, material estimates, reports, and studies.
  • Collect, track, and closeout construction project data (submittals, RFIs, etc.) from contractors and clients.
  • Compile project data and present findings clearly to team members and project stakeholders.

Field Work & Site Assessments

  • Conduct site visits to evaluate existing conditions, collect field data, and support project development.
  • Assist engineers and project managers with field observations, documentation, and reporting.
  • Perform construction inspection duties to ensure projects meet plans and specifications.
  • Gather material samples and submit for testing or client approval.

Communication & Coordination

  • Coordinate and communicate with internal team members, clients, and external stakeholders through phone calls and email.
  • Work collaboratively with engineers, project managers, and other disciplines to support project execution.

Professional Development

  • Recognize knowledge limitations and seek guidance when necessary to ensure quality work.
  • Follow company safety procedures and quality standards on all projects.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or closely related field from an accredited institution.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly express technical ideas.
  • Basic understanding of construction principles and willingness to learn through hands-on project work.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Internship or early career experience in construction, project management, or infrastructure projects.
  • Familiarity with design tools, spreadsheets, PDF editing tools, and project documentation processes.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including overtime and occasional overnight travel as required by project needs.
  • Ability to operate a computer and sit for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to work outdoors and in field environments, including walking on uneven or unstable surfaces such as concrete, grass, dirt, or gravel.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites as needed.
