POSITION SUMMARY:

Director of Finance:

Location: Everett

Schedule: 1.0 FTE

Salary Range: $92,000 - $100,00


The Director of Finance provides strategic and operational leadership in managing the organization’s financial functions. This position oversees all accounting and billing staff, ensuring that monthly financial statements are accurate, complete, and timely. The Director of Finance also supports the Chief Financial Officer in developing the organization’s annual budget and preparing budgets associated with grant funding.

Key Functions:

  • Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures.
  • Oversee the operations of the accounting/finance department, including the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving the department's goals and objectives.
  • Engage in ongoing cost reduction analyses in all areas of the organization.
  • Interpret the organization’s financial results to management and recommend improvement activities.
  • Compile key business metrics and shares them with management.
  • Create additional analyses and reports as requested.
  • Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable and cash flow for accuracy and efficiencies.
  • Oversee the process of medical billing, while partnering with program staff to ensure accuracy in billing.
  • Ensure adherence to GAAP or relevant accounting standards, including non-profit fund accounting.
  • Work directly with external CPA’s to complete an annual financial audit.
  • Ensure full compliance with federal, state, and local funding rules, including Uniform Guidance and single audits.

Required Qualifications and Key Competencies:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field. Equivalent business experience may be considered.
  • 5+ years of progressively responsible experience.
  • Demonstrated skills in forecasting, budgeting and cash flow.
  • Strong analytical skills - Synthesizes complex or diverse information; Collects and researches data; Uses intuition and experience to complement data; Designs work flows and procedures.
  • Ability to problem solve - Identify and resolve problems in a timely manner; Gather and analyze information skillfully; Develop alternative solutions; Work well in group problem solving situations; Use reason even when dealing with sensitive topics.
  • Quality Management skills - Look for ways to improve and promote quality; Demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness.
  • Displays good judgment-willing to make decisions; Exhibit sound and accurate judgment; Support and explain reasoning for decisions; Include appropriate people in decision-making process; Make timely decisions.
  • Must possess strong ethics - Treat people with respect; Keep commitments; Inspire the trust of others; Work with integrity and ethically; Uphold organizational values.
  • Ability to approach coworker and other business partners in a tactful manner.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Non-profit, or fund accounting, experience preferred.
  • Health Care industry experience a plus.

We are pioneers and respected leaders in providing family centered parenting support and early intervention services to pregnant women and young children birth through 3 years old.

Nurse Family Partnership serves first time pregnant women through pregnancy and until their child turns two years of age;

Parents as Teachers serves families who are pregnant or have a young child who are living with trauma or chronic hardships, including housing instability or poverty.


Outreach Support Services serves families with preschoolers who are homeless and living in shelters or who are isolated and lack support. The Outreach program also partners with the Tulalip Tribes and provides consultation services to childcare providers serving families in transitional housing.


ECEAP (Early Childhood Education and Assistance Program) is a high quality preschool and family development program for underserved families in partnership with Snohomish County and the State of Washington.
