Job description

Insero Talent Solutions is recruiting a Business Development Engineer/Manager for a fast growing electronics manufacturing company in Orlando, FL.

Ready to make a real impact in a high-growth, technically driven environment? We're looking for a dynamic Business Development Engineer to lead commercial strategy and execution for key Product Lines—including transformers, inductors, and related assemblies—across the North American market. This role is central to driving revenue, innovation, and long-term growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with management and R&D to develop product policies aligned with market expectations. Dive deep into BOMs, understand cost structures, and liaise closely with procurement.
  • Lead business development efforts by identifying new opportunities and expanding existing accounts in partnership with the sales team.
  • Provide direction to Sales and Engineering during prospecting, pipeline development, and new product introductions.
  • Partner with R&D to shape and maintain product and technology roadmaps.
  • Make strategic decisions on which opportunities to pursue.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to RFQs and proposals, setting pricing strategies aligned with market dynamics.
  • Develop and propose pricing structures—including product-level, account-based, and value pricing—subject to approval from Finance, Engineering leadership, and the USA GM.

Key Functional Areas

1. Sales Support / Sales Enablement & Project Management

  • Drive sales growth and customer acquisition for the Magnetics business unit in North America.
  • Grow and manage the lead pipeline, ensuring consistent follow-up and opportunity advancement.
  • Identify new applications and customer segments for product expansion.
  • Create sales tools and train USA Sales Managers, Manufacturing Reps, and Distributors on product offerings, value propositions, and target markets.
  • Steer the Rep Network and Regional Sales Managers toward high-potential opportunities to maximize effectiveness.
  • Influence customer requirements by presenting alternative technologies aligned with the company's strengths.
  • Build pricing proposals based on materials, labor, margin targets, and market positioning.
  • Define negotiation strategies and actively engage in key negotiations.
  • Ensure timely and coordinated responses to RFQs in collaboration with Sales and Customer Service.
  • Track and report on quote/proposal activity, maintaining KPIs.
  • Support Regional Sales Managers in presenting strategic opportunities to executive leadership.
  • Provide technical support to Sales throughout the engagement cycle.

2. Product Portfolio Management

  • Monitor and analyze market trends, prospects, customer needs, and competitor activities.
  • Share competitive intelligence and market insights with key internal stakeholders.
  • Develop business plans for assigned product lines with input from Engineering and R&D.
  • Define pricing policy and strategy, with finance and GBU management approval.
  • Develop competitive differentiators and articulate product value propositions.
  • Create and maintain Strategic Business Plans for product lines.
  • Contribute to the global Magnetics Technology & Product Roadmap alongside the R&D team.

3. Strategic Management

  • Aggregate and analyze business and market data to support strategic decisions.
  • Set annual order intake (Bookings) targets.
  • Participate in Strategic Business Planning and Reporting processes.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

  • Order Intake (Bookings)
  • New Design-Ins (custom and build-to-print)
  • Contribution Margin
  • New Customer Acquisition

Role Requirements:

  • Strong foundation in electronics, especially magnetics, capacitors, passive components, or power electronics.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Defense, Civil Aviation, Medical, and/or Mass Transportation sectors.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required; MBA preferred.
  • Exceptional communication skills—verbal, written, and listening.
  • Proactive, team-oriented mindset with strong business acumen.
  • Willingness and ability to travel 30%+.
