The Business Development Specialist is a pure growth role, built for someone who knows how to create opportunity, not wait for it.
This position is responsible for generating measurable growth through proactive relationship development, community presence, and consultative sales. You'll focus entirely on external business development... building relationships, opening doors, and converting those relationships into new members, loans, deposits, and business accounts.
This is not an internal operations role. You won't be underwriting loans, running marketing campaigns, or managing back-office processes. Instead, you'll partner with those teams to ensure the opportunities you create are executed effectively.

What You'll Do
Drive New Business Through Relationships
Build and grow a network of business owners, community leaders, and referral partners that consistently generates new opportunities. You'll be visible in the market... meeting people, creating connections, and turning those connections into business.
Convert Opportunities into Growth
Lead consultative conversations to understand needs and position the right solutions. Own the relationship from first conversation through close, maintaining momentum and follow-through every step of the way.
Build and Manage a Strong Pipeline
Maintain a clear, organized pipeline of opportunities with defined next steps and expected outcomes. You'll track where business is coming from, monitor conversion rates, and ensure your pipeline supports consistent production.
Represent the Credit Union in the Community
Be the face of the organization in your market. Attend events, engage with local businesses, and create opportunities through genuine community involvement... not just showing up, but showing up with purpose.
Collaborate Internally to Deliver Results
Work closely with lending, operations, branches, and marketing to ensure a smooth transition from opportunity to execution. You bring the business in... the team helps you get it across the finish line.
