Project Engineer – Drive Public Works Impact with CNW Construction, Inc.


Job Overview:

The Opportunity

You will play a direct role in shaping key public works infrastructure projects while accelerating your career in construction management. As a core member of an employee-focused, tight-knit team, you will enjoy professional cross-training, and continuous leadership mentorship. This position grants you authentic ownership over federal and government projects where your contribution directly drives public impact.


How You Will Make an Impact:

  • Review, manage, and process schedules, RFIs, submittals, change orders, and subcontracts to keep field operations running smoothly.
  • Analyze detailed blueprints, project plans, and specifications utilizing Bluebeam and Procore software platforms.
  • Collaborate directly with project managers, field superintendents, and public agency representatives to resolve plan discrepancies.
  • Support scheduling and project planning efforts
  • Participate in project meetings and prepare meeting minutes as needed


Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum 1 year of progressive project engineering experience in public works or federal construction.
  • Experience with or ability to comfortably prepare and manage RFIs, submittals, and plan reading.
  • Assist the Project Manager and Superintendent with developing and processing change orders.
  • Familiarity or working proficiency with Procore, and Bluebeam software.
  • Fundamental understanding of public works and prevailing wage guidelines.
  • Strong organizational skills, clear communication, and a highly coachable mindset.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Project)


Preferred Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 2+ years of progressive project engineering experience in public works or federal construction.
  • OSHA 30
