Job Title: Electrical Engineer
Location: Onsite 5 Days per Week (Monday Friday) Vacaville, CA
Pay Range: $55-63/hr on W2
Position Summary
The Electrical Engineer is responsible for supporting utility and facility electrical systems through design, project execution, troubleshooting, and operational support. This role provides technical expertise for electrical infrastructure, energy conservation initiatives, validated systems, and utility improvement projects while ensuring compliance with applicable codes, standards, and GMP requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Responsibilities
- Perform detailed electrical design for small- to mid-scale projects, including:
- Drawing mark-ups
- Load calculations
- Coordination studies
- Short circuit calculations
- Voltage drop calculations
- Equipment specifications
- Compliance with company standards and applicable codes
- Conduct design reviews for large projects to ensure system compatibility, constructability, and conformance to engineering standards.
- Provide field inspection and implementation support for:
- Electrical systems
- Security systems
- Fire alarm systems
- Data and telecommunications systems
- Instrumentation and control installations
- Review electrical power, security, fire alarm, and instrumentation/control drawings.
- Identify, scope, and manage energy conservation initiatives.
- Troubleshoot power quality issues in collaboration with Maintenance and JLL teams.
- Lead project engineering and project management activities for electrical and selected non-electrical projects.
- Provide technical support to maintenance teams for electrical operational issues.
- Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for utility bottlenecks and recommend corrective actions.
- Support SHE initiatives by providing technical expertise for permit applications.
- Review and approve modifications to Vacaville electrical drawings.
- Review and approve Change Records impacting validated electrical systems.

- Provide technical guidance to stakeholders and project teams.
Required Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) required.
Experience
- Minimum of 4 years of relevant electrical engineering experience.
Knowledge, Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of industrial standards, electrical codes, construction practices, and project engineering methodologies.
- Experience with project engineering and project management processes.
- Ability to read and interpret:
- Single-line electrical drawings
- Ladder logic control drawings
- Strong understanding of engineering principles and electrical design techniques.
- Knowledge of the project lifecycle, including:
- Initiation
- Design
- Construction
- Commissioning
- Validation
- Ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams and independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- EIT or PE registration is preferred.
