We are looking to fill a full time Quality Engineer position with a manufacturer located in the general area of Monroe, WI.
SALARY RANGE: $90k to $105k per year DOE. Relocation assistance is available.
REQUIREMENTS:
· Bachelor’s degree in related discipline, or equivalent
· 3 to 5 years’ experience in quality and auditing.
· Training in blueprint reading is necessary.
· Must be willing to travel a reasonable amount.
BASIC PURPOSE:
Ensure finished products meet company and customer quality standards for material and dimensional specifications, defects, etc. Handle customer inquiries and questions concerning product quality and quality system elements in a timely and complete manner.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Assist the Metrology Lab (Layout) Technician with dimensional reports and scheduling of parts for inspection through the department. Assist with CMM programming as needed and monitoring of the Gage Management Program.
2. Primary accountability for the safety and supervision of the Metrology Lab (Layout) and Inspection areas. Evaluate work performance, counsel and coach employees to maintain safe and efficient work performance.
3. Evaluation of dimensional results from all direct variable measurement instruments within the shop. Reviewing and interpreting dimensional reports to make sure it meets customer requirements.
4. Monitor, analyze, and interpret scrap and return statistics and provide suggestions to enhance plant performance in these areas.
5. Track samples, initiating corrections and adjustments required in a timely manner.
6. Coordinate the implementation and supervision of appropriate quality assurance programs and procedures consistent with overall Company objectives, including IATF16949.
7. Complete internal auditor training and conduct internal audits to meet the requirements of IATF 16949.
8. Lead corrective actions to resolve customer/supplier quality concerns.
9. Prepare statistical information and reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends.
10. Maintain close contact with operations and scheduling personnel to avoid or resolve quality problems.
11. Conduct production process and product failure mode effect analysis (FMEA) audits, as required.
12. Visit customers or suppliers to address and resolve quality problems, as required.
13. Participate in area continuous improvement efforts including employee involvement activities.
