Automation Engineer - Manufacturing
Job Title : Automation Engineer
Education : Mechanical / Manufacturing Engineering
Location : Exeter, CA
Experience : 1-3+ years
salary : $65-80K
Position Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated Automation Engineer with a strong foundation in mechanical engineering and hands-on experience in manufacturing environments. The ideal candidate will have exposure in extrusion, injection molding, and automation systems, with a proven track record of driving process improvements to enhance efficiency, quality, and safety.
Key Responsibilities
Design, implement, and optimize automation solutions for manufacturing processes, including extrusion and injection molding operations.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction.
Develop and maintain PLC programs, robotic systems, and automated equipment.
Troubleshoot and resolve automation-related issues to minimize downtime.
Ensure compliance with safety standards and quality requirements throughout all automation projects.
Analyze production data to identify trends and implement corrective actions.
Support continuous improvement initiatives using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
1-3+ years of experience in manufacturing automation
Experience n extrusion and injection molding environments in helpful but not required
knowledge of automation technologies, including PLCs, robotics, sensors, and control systems.
Familiarity with CAD software and mechanical design principles.
Experience with process optimization and continuous improvement tools.
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
