DevOps Engineer (IT Production Support)

Job Description
We are seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer (IT Production Support) to manage, maintain, secure, and support application middle-tier environments across Oracle WebLogic, Oracle HTTP Server, Solaris/Linux, Windows, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud environments.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience in both development and operations, with expertise in application server administration, production support, deployment, performance tuning, troubleshooting, automation, and high-availability environments.
The role requires close collaboration with application developers, database administrators, network engineers, security teams, and infrastructure operations to ensure stable and reliable production environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, design, install, configure, secure, maintain, patch, and support:
- Oracle WebLogic
- Oracle HTTP Server
- Solaris/Linux
- Windows Server
- Zones/Containers
- DevOps and CI/CD pipelines
- Kubernetes, including AKS and ARO
- Cloud services
- Monitor application-server resource utilization and optimize performance.
- Analyze and tune:
- Thread usage
- Connection pools
- CPU utilization
- Memory utilization
- JVM performance
- Analyze log files, thread dumps, JVM dumps, exception stack traces, and other diagnostic information.
- Deploy and troubleshoot JAR, WAR, and EAR files in both domain and clustered environments.
- Configure and deploy HTTPS/SSL certificates to secure web applications and services.
- Develop and implement server patching strategies, including regular security updates.
- Ensure all environment changes follow established Change Management policies and procedures.
- Conduct periodic disaster recovery testing and maintain DR documentation and procedures.
- Collaborate with application developers, DBAs, and system administrators on application and database configuration and integration.
- Install, configure, manage, and monitor COTS applications and products, including:
- DocuShare
- OpenText
- Liquid Office
- Quality Center
- Tableau
- Other enterprise applications
- Assist network and security teams in monitoring application-server environments.
- Evaluate new application and system requirements for resource planning and capacity needs.
- Configure and monitor scheduled batch jobs.
- Configure and monitor system alerts to support 24x7 availability.
- Work with Oracle and other vendors to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
- Follow established communications protocols during system failures and outages.
- Prepare incident reports and escalate major hardware and software issues to senior IT personnel.
- Respond to Service Desk tickets and provide timely technical support and resolution.
- Prepare system configuration, administration, and support documentation.
- Provide knowledge transfer and technical training to team members as required.
- Maintain application and software inventories.
- Create and maintain infrastructure and application architecture diagrams.
- Participate in after-hours and weekend support activities when required.
Required / Preferred Qualifications
- 6–8 years of experience as an Application Server Administrator, preferably supporting large-scale Oracle WebLogic environments.
- Strong experience administering WebLogic environments on Unix/Linux platforms.
- Hands-on experience installing, configuring, managing, monitoring, and troubleshooting:
- Oracle WebLogic
- Oracle Application Server
- Oracle Reports Server
- Oracle OBIEE / Oracle Analytics Server (OAS)
- Strong knowledge of Oracle Solaris 10/11.
- Experience with Oracle virtual environments, including:
- LDOMs
- ZFS
- Zones/Containers
- Experience with:
- DevOps
- CI/CD pipelines

- Cloud services
- Strong understanding of J2EE technologies.
