Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience (healthcare or nonprofit preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting required
  • Experience supporting audits and financial close cycles required
  • 3+ years management experience required
  • CPA or CPA-eligible preferred
  • Experience in an FQHC, nonprofit healthcare, or grant-funded environment preferred
  • Familiarity with HRSA, UDS, Medicare/Medicaid cost reporting preferred
  • Experience with healthcare EHR/financial systems and payroll integration preferred

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Communicates financial information effectively to non-finance staff
  • Maintains confidentiality of sensitive financial and personnel data
  • Ability to analyze complex financial and grant data
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency of ERP systems and Excel
  • Intermediate or higher proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw sound conclusions.
  • Critical thinker who solves problems and makes sound decisions

Working Conditions

  • Must have reliable transportation and be able to travel locally for meetings and events, when required
  • Regularly sit while working on the computer; use hands and fingers to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls; repeat the same movements when entering data; ability to differentiate between colors, shades, and brightness; read from a computer screen for extended periods of time
  • Frequently stand and walk around the office to gather supplies, required to do filing, use office equipment, or collaborate with employees
  • Occasionally stand, stoop and lift or move objects, equipment and supplies weighing approximately 20-25 pounds up to 40-50 pounds
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
