ABOUT THE ROLE

Our client, Eight Eleven Group, is seeking a motivated Jr. Python Developer to join their AI Platform team in a hybrid role based in Detroit, MI. This full-time opportunity is ideal for recent graduates or early-career technologists eager to gain hands-on experience in Python development and AI-driven solutions. As a Jr. Python Developer, you will work closely with developers, data scientists, AWS engineers, UI/UX teams, and Product Owners to build and enhance Python-based services, integrate machine learning and generative AI models, and support innovative AI use cases such as vehicle description generation, damage detection, and repair cost estimation. You will participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, maintain documentation, and communicate technical progress to stakeholders, all while learning the fundamentals of technical product ownership and Agile delivery. WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Develop and enhance Python-based services for an AI-driven platform leveraging Generative AI and open-source technologies.
• Collaborate with data scientists to integrate machine learning and GenAI models into production workflows.
• Assist in replacing traditional OCR solutions with AI-driven document classification and information extraction.
• Support AI use cases such as:
  • Automatically generating vehicle descriptions from images
  • Detecting vehicle damage using computer vision
  • Assisting with repair cost estimation through AI insights
• Work closely with cross-functional teams including Python developers, data scientists, AWS engineers, UI/UX teams, and Product Owners.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies such as daily standups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and backlog grooming.
• Create and maintain use-case documentation, adapting templates to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Communicate technical progress and risks to stakeholders, learning to translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Support onboarding of new technical team members while learning effective Scrum and product delivery practices.

WHAT YOU BRING

• Bachelor's degree (completed or in progress) in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Strong foundation in Python programming.
• Exposure to data processing, machine learning, or AI-driven application development.
• Interest in Generative AI and modern AI tooling.
• Technical curiosity with the ability to understand and discuss AI-based solutions.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence).
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills in cross-functional environments.
• User-first mindset with the ability to balance technical decisions, business needs, and compliance considerations.
