JOB TITLE: Technical Editor/Writer
LOCATION: Grand Prairie, TX
PAY RATE: $61.68/hour

We are a national aerospace and defense staffing agency seeking highly qualified candidates for a position with a top-tier client.

• Job Type: Contract (Up to 11 months with potential for extension)

• Work Arrangement: Onsite initially; transitions to hybrid (1–2 remote days)

Qualifying Questions:

Summary:

• Write, edit, and maintain:

  • Operating Procedures

  • Acceptance Test Procedures (ATP)

  • Calibration Procedures

  • Installation Procedures

  • Test Requirements Documents (TRD)

• Support document review, release, and approval processes using Windchill

• Ensure compliance with configuration management and change control processes

• Coordinate with engineering and production teams to gather and validate technical content

• Review and select appropriate visual aids (drawings, diagrams, charts) to support documentation

• Perform quality assurance reviews to ensure accuracy, clarity, and compliance with standards

Requirements:

• Ability to obtain clearance

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Technical Communication, or a related field

• 6+ years of technical writing experience in aerospace, defense, or high-tech environments

• Experience developing documentation for test equipment preferred

• Proficiency with:

  • Microsoft Office Suite

  • Adobe Acrobat

  • PLM systems (Windchill required)

• Familiarity with aerospace documentation standards (e.g., ECSS, MIL-STD)

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex engineering concepts into clear, user-friendly instructions

• Working knowledge of change control and configuration management processes

• Must be a U.S. citizen to comply with security clearance requirements.
