Our employees are not only part of history, theyre making history. / ppNorthrop Grumman Defense Systems has an exceptional opening for an experienced EHS Manager to support our site in Plymouth, MN. / ppThis site develops and produces medium- and large-caliber ammunition as well as precision capabilities for direct and indirect fire systems. Leading the industry, this team successfully completes lifecycle support for medium-caliber cannons, develops miniature, precision strike weapons for airborne platforms, creates survivability solutions for soldiers and the next generation tactical ammunition for a variety of combat platforms. / ppThis position will report directly to the Weapons Systems Division Environmental, Safety, Health and Sustainability Manager. The EHS Manager will manage a team of environmental, health and safety professionals with a focus on regulatory compliance, injury prevention and sustainability efforts. This position will also manage a team of Hazards Analysis / System Safety personnel who focus on identifying various hazards within energetic operations and ensuring all work is conducted safely. / ppResponsibilities include developing and implementing injury prevention programs, developing compliance strategies for new and existing health and safety regulations and / or company policies, and supporting programs in a rapidly evolving environment. / ppSpecific functional responsibilities include but are not limited to : / pulliObserves, records, analyzes and affects change of EHS compliance-related activities as necessary. Interacts with federal, state and local regulators to resolve compliance issues. / liliAssure compliance with Corporate and Sector EHS procedures and guidelines such as HOPS and K200. / liliPerforms AS PPCB Secretary duties to assure internal reviews as required by HOPS and sector management. / liliReview Detailed and Standard Operating procedures and approve or revise for safety compliance. / liliUtilizes Root Cause and Problem-Solving tools. Provides creative and practical technical solutions to a moderate range of challenging problems. / liliCollects, evaluates and interprets relevant EHS related data and metrics. Prepares environmental, health and safety metrics to leadership as required. / liliEngagement with site leadership to foster a strong positive EHS culture across the AS Business Unit. / liliProvides input for external communications to customers, regulators shareholders. / liliPrepares communications to internal management. / liliManages AS relationships and related activities with EHS regulatory personnel such as DCMA Safety, OSHA, EPA / MPCA and other regulatory agencies. / liliLead internal actions and activities related to event investigations. / liliCollaboration with other site EHS Managers, to harmonize company EHS policies and procedures. / liliDeveloping and providing safety related training programs for touch labor, engineers and management. / liliManage occupational health programs including industrial hygiene monitoring and surveillance. / liliManage department budget and identifying opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction. / liliConduct inspections, audits, and incident investigations, and drive corrective actions. / liliOversee all required hazards analysis and ensure they are completed in a timely fashion. / li / ulpBasic Qualifications : / pulliBachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science / Engineering, Safety Engineering, Industrial Hygiene or equivalent technical area (Biology, Chemistry, Geology, etc.) / lili9 years of EHS experience or a Masters degree plus 7 years of EHS experience / liliMinimum of 3 years of Managemeng / Leadership experience / liliU.S. Citizenship is required / liliAbility to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance / liliExcellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication and collaboration skills with all levels of an organization. / liliStrong management, coaching, and communication skills. / liliDemonstrated ability to organize and multi-task various Industrial Hygiene and Safety programs effectively. / liliDemonstrated ability to engage effectively with subordinates and delegate responsibilities with productive outcome. / liliDemonstrated ability to independently prioritize, plan and execute in rapidly changing, fast-paced environment while maintaining high quality results. / liliAbility to provide technical solutions to complex problems based on sound safety principles. / liliAbility to recognize opportunities for process improvements and to develop and implement more efficient and enhanced programs. / liliAbility to travel 25% of the time. / li / ulpPreferred Qualifications : / pulliExperience supporting EHS programs for manufacturing operations. / liliExperience with Hazards Analysis and GFMEA. / liliExperience working in an environment that processes and utilizes energetic materials such as propellants, explosives, pyrotechnics, etc. / liliDemonstrate the ability to develop and carry out sustainability programs to meet corporate metrics. / liliCertified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) / li / ul / div
