This position offers the opportunity to make a visible impact across the organization by leading facility operations, driving a strong safety culture, and partnering with cross-functional teams to enhance the employee experience and operational effectiveness. If you are a hands-on leader who enjoys solving complex challenges, influencing change, and building programs that protect people and support business growth, this role offers a meaningful and rewarding career opportunity.

This position is based on-site in Long Beach, California, and requires regular physical presence at the facility.

What You'll Do

  • Manage day-to-day facilities operations, maintenance programs, vendor relationships, and capital projects to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant workplace environments.
  • Lead environmental, health, and safety (EHS) programs, ensuring compliance with OSHA, Cal/OSHA, EPA, and other applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and implement facilities, safety, emergency response, and environmental policies, procedures, and training programs that support operational excellence and employee well-being.
  • Monitor facility performance, budgets, safety metrics, incident trends, and compliance activities, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce risk, and control costs.
  • Conduct workplace inspections, audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations, ensuring timely corrective and preventive actions are implemented.
  • Manage injury prevention initiatives and regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Oversee all workers' compensation activities, ensuring timely reporting, claim resolution, regulatory compliance, and effective coordination with employees, managers, healthcare providers, and third-party administrators.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, Human Resources, and external partners to drive continuous improvement, workplace safety, and business continuity initiatives.
  • Lead and develop Facilities and EHS team members by providing coaching, performance management, and professional development opportunities.
  • Present facilities and EHS performance metrics, compliance updates, and strategic recommendations to leadership to support informed decision-making and organizational objectives.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

What We're Looking For

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Facilities Management, Engineering, Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of Facilities and/or EHS experience, including leadership or supervisory responsibilities.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing, medical device, pharmaceutical, or other regulated environments.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA and Cal/OSHA regulations, environmental compliance requirements, and workplace safety programs.
  • Experience managing vendors, contractors, maintenance programs, and capital improvement projects.
  • Experience managing workers' compensation programs and workplace injury investigations.
  • Strong project management, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and EHS reporting systems.

Preferred

  • Professional certifications such as CSP, ASP, CHMM, OHST, or equivalent.
  • Experience supporting ISO 14001, ISO 45001, or similar management systems.
  • Experience with sustainability initiatives and environmental programs.
  • Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement experience.
  • Experience within a medical device manufacturing environment.

Physical Requirements of the Job

  • 100% onsite position located in Long Beach, California.
  • Regular presence on the manufacturing floor, warehouse, laboratory, and office environments is required.
  • Must be able to walk the facility frequently, conduct inspections, and respond to operational or safety issues in real time.
  • Occasional travel may be required to support other company locations, vendors, or projects.
