Job Summary
The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) works under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist (PT) to help patients recover from injuries, surgeries, or chronic conditions. The PTA assists in implementing treatment plans to improve mobility, reduce pain, and restore physical function.
Key Responsibilities
Assist the Physical Therapist in implementing individualized treatment plans
Provide therapeutic exercises and functional mobility training
Perform therapeutic modalities such as heat, cold, ultrasound, and electrical stimulation
Monitor and document patient progress and responses to treatment
Assist patients with ambulation, transfers, and use of assistive devices
Educate patients on exercises and safety techniques
Maintain accurate documentation in EMR/EHR systems
Ensure a clean, safe, and organized treatment environment
Communicate effectively with PTs and interdisciplinary team members
Required Qualifications
Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
Active PTA license in the state of practice
Current BLS certification
Strong knowledge of rehabilitation techniques
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
