Electrical engineer [h1.location_city]

Our client, a distinguished construction and engineering design firm, is looking for an Electrical Engineer to join their team on a full-time basis in San Francisco, CA. Ideal candidates will have experience performing a variety of electrical engineering and design activities and will report to senior engineering staff. This individual must be able to work as a productive and engaged team member, with a strong emphasis on sustainability and innovation, in a fast-paced environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Perform electrical design using up-to-date engineering software and tools.
• Conduct and review submittals, shop drawings, and ensure accurate and timely responses to RFIs.
• Document and communicate scope changes, schedule adjustments, and budget updates to project teams.
• Analyze data and develop recommendations, technical summaries, and cost estimates for senior engineers and project managers.
• Prepare technical reports to document engineering analyses, findings, and recommendations.
• Conduct feasibility studies for proposed electrical systems and equipment.
• Assist senior engineers in reviewing design plans, development strategies, and cost estimates.
• Evaluate and recommend electrical engineering solutions, equipment, and system specifications.
• Serve as a technical advisor to junior engineering staff assigned to projects.
• Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams and follow direction from project leads to ensure seamless project coordination.
• Attend and actively participate in design and construction project meetings.
• Implement quality assurance procedures during the electrical design process, including design checklists and interdisciplinary coordination.
• Propose innovative and sustainable design solutions for electrical systems.
• Perform voltage drop calculations, short-circuit studies, breaker coordination, Arc Flash studies, and other essential engineering analyses.
• Apply thorough knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC), Title 24, and relevant building codes in all designs.
• Edit and adapt material and construction specifications to meet project-specific requirements.
• Incorporate electrical designs within a BIM environment, collaborating with design teams.
• Participate in field visits during construction, providing written reports of site observations when necessary.
