Job Title: Civil Engineer
Job Description
We are seeking a talented and motivated Civil Engineer to assist in the development and implementation of comprehensive engineering plans. This role involves working on a variety of projects, including grading, drainage, utilities, landfill construction, and stormwater management. The Civil Engineer will support solid waste engineering design and permitting efforts for landfills and recycling facilities, as well as prepare essential technical documentation.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the creation and execution of engineering plans for various infrastructure projects.
- Support the design and permitting processes for solid waste facilities.
- Prepare technical documents such as operating plans, CQA reports, and permit applications.
- Collect and analyze air and water samples to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Analyze technical data and effectively communicate findings to team members.
- Utilize AutoCAD for project design and documentation.
- Monitor and document construction activities at landfill facilities, including field inspections.
- Perform field duties related to CQA and CQC activities across multiple states.
- Collaborate with staff and provide direction to support staff as necessary.
- Provide project support to engineers to ensure successful task completion.
- Engage in on-site job training to enhance professional development.
Essential Skills
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Geological Engineering, or Environmental Engineering.
- 1-4 years of experience in engineering design.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
- Knowledge of soil mechanics and surveying.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- EIT certification is desired.
- Ability to travel, often on short notice.
- Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
- Proficiency in MS Word and Excel.
Work Environment
This role involves working in a small team of three in Springfield, with active collaboration with the Collinsville, IL team. The position reports directly to the PM and requires occasional travel for fieldwork, utilizing a company vehicle. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Springfield, IL.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $31.25 - $36.06/hr.
