JOB SUMMARY :

As an Entry-Level Phlebotomist, you will take on essential responsibilities in our Patient Service Center (PSC) or in-office settings. Your role will involve performing specimen collection and processing with accuracy and timeliness. You'll interact professionally with clients, patients, and colleagues while fostering a calm and caring environment for those undergoing procedures.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Provide a warm welcome to all customers and treat them with respect.
  • Collect field phlebotomy and PSC specimens punctually and accurately.
  • Carry out specimen collection in line with established procedures, clearly explaining the venipuncture process to patients and alleviating their anxiety.
  • Ensure safe disposal of biohazardous materials and sharps in accordance with laws and policies.
  • Accurately complete requisitions and enter detailed patient information into the computer system.
  • Conduct research using the laboratory's computer system to gather test / client information.
  • Process specimens by matching laboratory requisition forms with specimen tubes, ensuring proper labeling and handling.
  • Package and store specimens for transport, adhering to temperature requirements and integrity protocols.
  • Keep daily records and documentation up-to-date.
  • Assist in compiling monthly statistics and data.
  • Perform basic clerical tasks, such as filing and electronic data entry.
  • Approve time entries in attendance software on schedule and submit travel logs accurately.
  • Maintain a professional appearance according to company grooming standards.
  • Demonstrate excellent organizational commitment and time management amidst varying patient flow.
  • Uphold a supportive environment through courteous communication with clients and team members.
  • Answer phones in a friendly yet professional manner, clearly identifying yourself and the company.
  • Work independently while communicating relevant issues to supervisors for resolution.
  • Foster a positive workplace climate and contribute to team objectives.
  • Ensure cleanliness and maintenance of the workplace and report any necessary repairs.
  • Assist with inventory checks and communicate shortages or problems.
  • Utilize Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) correctly for safety and adhere to all lab safety protocols.
  • Comply with the Corporate Compliance Program and all company policies regarding privacy and security.
