Job Title: Millwright

Job Description

The Millwright installs, assembles, levels, aligns, and anchors new industrial machinery and tanks in accordance with precise floor and equipment specifications. This role focuses on the safe and accurate installation of mechanical and industrial equipment while supporting long-term construction and maintenance projects across large manufacturing and fabrication sites.

Responsibilities

  • Install and assemble new machinery, equipment, and tanks according to engineering drawings, specifications, and site requirements.
  • Level, align, and anchor equipment to floor and foundation specifications to ensure safe and efficient operation.
  • Use rigging techniques and equipment to safely move, position, and secure heavy machinery and tanks.
  • Perform mechanical adjustments, basic repairs, and component replacement on industrial equipment as needed during installation.
  • Apply welding skills when required to support installation, repair, and modification of industrial equipment and support structures.
  • Inspect completed installations to verify proper alignment, secure anchoring, and compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with other trades and site personnel to coordinate installation activities and maintain project timelines.
  • Use personal tools and equipment to complete daily tasks efficiently and safely.
  • Follow all site safety procedures, including fall protection and safe work practices when working at heights and during early-morning shifts.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members, including in Spanish where applicable, to ensure clear understanding of tasks and site requirements.

Essential Skills

  • At least 5 years of experience working as a Millwright in an industrial or mechanical environment.
  • Proven experience with installation and assembly of industrial equipment and tanks.
  • Hands-on experience leveling, aligning, and anchoring machinery to floor or foundation specifications.
  • Rigging experience for moving and positioning heavy equipment, with the ability to use rigging tools and hardware safely.
  • Mechanical aptitude and industrial repair skills for equipment installation and adjustment.
  • Welding skills applicable to industrial and mechanical installation work.
  • Ability to work safely from heights using appropriate fall protection and safety procedures.
  • Capability to work extended shifts, including 10-hour days and some Saturdays, with early start times as early as 4:00 . in summer.
  • Ability to provide and effectively use personal tools required for millwright and installation work.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of an industrial construction team.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in rigging is preferred and considered a strong asset.
  • Spanish-speaking or bilingual abilities are highly beneficial for communication on diverse job sites.
  • Background in industrial, mechanical, or construction environments.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, layouts, and installation instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure precise alignment, leveling, and anchoring of equipment.
  • Demonstrated reliability and willingness to support long-term projects with consistent attendance and performance.

Work Environment

This role is based on large industrial job sites, including advanced manufacturing and fabrication facilities. You will typically work five 10-hour days per week, with additional Saturday work available, resulting in a standard 50-hour workweek and the potential for more hours when needed. Start times can vary and may begin as early as 4:00 . during the summer to align with site schedules and environmental conditions. The work takes place both indoors and outdoors within active construction and industrial environments, often around heavy machinery, rigging operations, and ongoing trades activity. You must be comfortable working at heights and using appropriate safety and fall protection equipment. The setting is fast-paced, safety-focused, and oriented around teamwork and coordination with other trades and site personnel.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Phoenix, AZ.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $51.91 - $51.91/hr.
