Job Description:

Pay Range: $35hr - $40hr
  • The Automation Test Engineer will design, develop, and maintain advanced automation solutions supporting complex enterprise applications, including payment processing systems.
  • This role requires strong expertise in Katalon Studio, Groovy/Java scripting, CI/CD integration, backend validation, and cross-platform testing.
  • The ideal candidate will bring a strong understanding of automation best practices, framework scalability, and end-to-end validation strategies.
Key Responsibilities:

Automation Framework Development And Enhancement:
  • Develop and maintain Groovy-based custom scripts for complex automation scenarios in Katalon Studio.
  • Enhance the automation framework by building reusable functions, utilities, and custom keywords.
  • Extend Katalon capabilities through Java/Groovy custom keyword development and external library integration.
  • Implement and maintain scalable, maintainable automation structures.
Web And Application Testing:
  • Validate dynamic web elements using JavaScript.
  • Enhance automation scripts for modern UI frameworks.
  • Perform automation and functional testing of Windows-based applications.
  • Conduct cross-browser web application testing.
  • Validate complete end-to-end workflows and UI functionality.
Database And Backend Validation:
  • Write and execute SQL queries for backend validation and test data setup.
  • Verify database results against application outputs during execution.
  • Validate data integrity across integrated systems.
Unix/Linux Environment Support:
  • Work with Unix/Linux servers for application validation and backend monitoring.
  • Execute shell commands for log verification and environment checks.
  • Analyze server logs and validate application behavior on Unix/Linux platforms.
Version Control And CI/CD:
  • Manage source code using GitHub with proper branching strategies and pull requests.
  • Participate in peer code reviews and repository management.
  • Integrate automation suites with Jenkins pipelines.
  • Configure scheduled and on-demand automation runs.
  • Analyze CI execution results and job reports.
Test Management And Reporting:
  • Utilize QC/ALM for test planning, execution tracking, and defect management.
  • Use qTest for managing test cycles and ensuring traceability between manual and automated tests.
  • Maintain documentation of test cases and automation coverage.
Payment Processing Validation:
  • Validate end-to-end payment workflows.
  • Test payment gateway integrations and encryption standards.
  • Work with ISO, JSON, and XML message formats used in transaction processing.
  • Conduct functional and regression testing across multiple platforms and applications.
Automation Best Practices:
  • Structure, maintain, and optimize automation frameworks.
  • Debug automation failures and improve test stability.
  • Ensure script reusability, scalability, and long-term maintainability.
Required Skills And Experience:
  • Strong experience with Katalon Studio and Groovy scripting.
  • Solid understanding of Java/Groovy and JavaScript.
  • Experience writing complex SQL queries.
  • Experience working in Unix/Linux environments.
  • Hands-on experience with GitHub and Jenkins.
  • Experience with QC/ALM and qTest.
  • Experience testing payment processing applications.
  • Strong knowledge of automation best practices and framework design.
