Vinyl is the number one stylized vinyl collectible on the market, selling millions of figures to fans around the world.The Assistant Controller plays a critical leadership role within the accounting organization, supporting the Corporate Controller in managing the company’s financial reporting processes—including external SEC reporting—as well as internal SOX controls, compliance activities, and the evaluation of new or evolving technical accounting standards. This role is responsible for ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of financial statements in accordance with . GAAP and SEC regulations.You will help drive key accounting initiatives, improve SOX compliant internal controls, and serve as a primary liaison during quarterly and annual audits with our external audit firm. The ideal candidate brings proven public company accounting leadership experience and thrives in a fast paced, high volume, multinational environment.
What You’ll Do
  • Lead process improvements across domestic and international accounting operations to support SOX 404(b) compliance and operational effectiveness.
  • Review monthly P&L results, perform analytical reviews, and oversee account reconciliations.
  • Partner with the VP, Corporate Controller to oversee day‑to‑day accounting operations and ensure strong redundancy and backup coverage for all critical processes.
  • Serve as a key leader during month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end close activities, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Act as a primary point of contact for external auditors and assist with the management of quarterly and annual audit processes.
  • Identify issues proactively, implement scalable solutions, and drive process efficiencies across the accounting function.
  • Support the Controller in strengthening operational efficiencies, documenting processes, and enhancing internal controls.
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally to provide ad‑hoc financial analysis that supports business decision‑making and operational strategy.

What You’ll Bring

  • Strong quantitative and qualitative problem‑solving skills with the ability to evaluate alternatives and make objective recommendations.
  • Excellent organizational and time‑management capabilities, with the ability to prioritize and complete projects in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Demonstrated project management skills, including ownership of key initiatives and cross‑functional collaboration.
  • Advanced technical accounting knowledge, including the ability to draft and review accounting policy memos.
  • 10+ years of accounting experience, preferably within public and/or multinational companies.
  • Prior experience working as an auditor within a public accounting firm or audit practice preferred.
  • Experience designing, implementing, and maintaining internal controls under SOX (preferred).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, or a related field.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Experience with major ERP systems (., Microsoft Dynamics, SAP) preferred.
Salary InformationThe base salary range for this position in the selected city is $150,753 - 200,500 annually.​Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.What Funko Offers
