Description

Provides direct day-to-day care of patients and families. Functions to the fullest extent of his/her license in accordance with organizational policies. Accepts assigned responsibilities and accountability for an individual or group of patients during a designated time frame. The Flex Nurse provides specialized care consistent with the policies, procedures, standards of care and designated competencies for the units they will work. The RN will be utilized in multiple areas as needed and scheduled during pay period.

Qualifications

Minimum Education
Associate's degree: Required
Bachelor’s degree: Preferred

Required Skills
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Required Skills
Certifications:
Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) within 90 days of hire
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 90 days of hire
Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) within six months of date of hire
Handle with Care within one year of date of hire

Required Skills
Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of VA or Compact licensure which includes the Commonwealth of VA, and in good standing with the Board.

Minimum Work Experience
Two years of nursing experience in an acute care setting. Prefer previous experience in Med/Surg, ER, ICU and/or OB
