Job description
Job Description

Great classrooms don't just happen — they're designed. As a Product Developer Associate on our New Product Development team, you'll help bring thoughtfully crafted educational products to life, from early concept through launch. You'll work alongside designers, engineers, and our global sourcing partners to develop products that hold up in real classrooms and genuinely serve the children and educators who use them every day.

A day on the job looks like this:

  • Analyzing market trends and sales data to inform development of future products
  • Participating in new product ideation and presenting to peers and management
  • Providing clear direction and collaborating with cross-functional teams, including designers, engineers and our Asia team to ensure successful execution of products
  • Conducting market research and gathering customer insights to inform product development decisions
  • Ensuring that target price and product functionality expectations are met
  • Ensuring that all products meet the highest standards of quality and safety, with a focus on attention to detail , taking active steps to move product forward and meet deadlines
  • Utilizing effective communication skills to appropriately inform various levels of the organization and team members of project progress, as well as to report any concerns or project risks

Qualifications

Got the skills and experience? Here’s what we’re looking for:

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 1+ years of experience in product development
  • 3+ years of experience working in the education as a teacher
  • Understanding of the development process for physical items
  • Ability to analyze complex problems and provide solutions
  • Experience presenting projects to leadership
  • Highly detail-oriented, hardworking, and professional personality with excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to work onsite full-time at our Carson, CA headquarters

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree in education
  • Exposure to furniture, hardlines, or physical product development processes
  • Experience working with overseas sourcing or manufacturing partners

What sets you apart:

  • You have a background in education.
  • You ask questions before assuming — and you use what you learn to make sharper decisions.
  • When a project hits a snag, you focus on the path forward rather than the obstacle.
  • You hold yourself to a high bar on quality and notice the details others walk past.
  • You bring your perspective to the table and genuinely listen when others bring theirs.
