Shared Services: Global Outreach (Full-Time, Day Shift) -

The Global Communications Specialist creates and implements innovative internal and external communications strategies for the Global Health Institute (GHI). Increases the visibility of Loma Linda University Health's (LLUH) global impact and outreach activity through GHI’s programs, global campuses, General Conference representative’s office, World Affairs Council (WAC), and other affiliated partner organizations and offices. Also executes communications plans for Adventist Health International (AHI) and Social Action Community Health System (SACHS). Performs other duties as needed.

Bachelor's Degree in Communications, English, Business, Public Relations, International Relations, or related field required. Master's Degree preferred. Minimum one year experience in communications, marketing, writing, design, public or international relations required. Related volunteer, internship or practical academic experience accepted.

Broad knowledge of communications strategies and mediums, including multimedia design, website design, public relations campaigns, marketing, social media, and writing news and feature articles. Superior knowledge of the English language, including rules and usage. Able to use photography and video equipment and editing software. . Knowledge of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church organizational structure, processes and affiliated organizations of the General Conference. Able to read and speak in English with professional quality; write professionally for wide range of publications with minimal editing required; use computer and software programs necessary to the position, e.g., Photoshop, Acrobat, Illustrator, InDesign, SyncAll, CMS platforms, Word, Excel, Power Point, Access, and both Mac and Windows operating systems; operate and troubleshoot basic office equipment required for the position; produce, film, and edit short films; edit podcasts; solicit and compare bids. Able to relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others; provide leadership; be assertive and consistent in enforcing policies; work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure; lead, supervise, teach, and collaborate; accept direction. Able to travel internationally; be flexible with meeting deadlines and staffing events in different time zones and off hours; think critically; work independently; perform basic math and statistical functions; manage multiple assignments; work well under pressure and changing priorities; problem solve; organize and prioritize workload; recall information with accuracy; strong design and concept skills with sophisticated aesthetics; pay close attention to detail; self-motivated to lead in finding and developing stories and opportunities. Able to distinguish colors as necessary; hear sufficiently for general conversation in person and on the telephone and identify and distinguish various sounds associated with the workplace; see adequately to read computer screens, and written documents necessary to the position.
