Job Description
Responsibilities
Performs professional financial analysis work, which involves: extracting financial data from various accounting and information systems, compilation, consolidation and appropriate analysis of financial data to support capital reporting and analysis activities.
Analyze, test and validate information used in monthly and quarterly capital reporting processes.
Support requests from management and finance partners related to capital results and management reporting.
Analyze financial data and assist in identifying and explaining variances between reporting periods.
Participates in monthly accounting processes to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records.
Assist in preparing management reporting packages and supporting analysis related to capital results.
Updates Excel-based financial reports/models for forecasting, trending and results analysis.
Assists with project work and may serve as a member of divisional project team.
Responsible for adherence to the company's framework of internal controls.
Assist in documenting capital reporting processes and support improvements to increase efficiency and data quality.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance and/or equivalent work experience.
Up to 2 years of experience, with degree.
Advanced computer skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Working knowledge of insurance capital finance with the ability to analyze financial data and investigate variances.
Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing, customer service approach.
Detail-oriented, accurate; analytical, work effectively individually and collaboratively within a team, organizational and prioritization skills.
Strong Excel skills including formulas, pivot tables, and working with financial data sets.
